If everyone “donated” money without wanting to know what they get out of it, then why are people asking what they get out of it?

So basically you want to paid (already being an administrator with the domain registered in your name) to do something to show the people giving the club money where it’s going?
I would assume thats in the job description that comes with being 1 of 3 administrators?
If you don’t have the time to do it right, I suggest you don’t do it at all… simply put.

Paul already did try and track down where all the donations went in years past… but he didnt have to ask me, because i already saved all the money i collected and i still have it sitting right here… yay weee…
your criticism IS misplaced because you are accusing the only people who HAVE BEEN accountable people of being unaccountable. so blah blah blah keep running with that.
i’ve been nothing but civil with you and am just trying to get this straight. try to keep the attitude to a minimum.
to you, i’m nobody. regardless of what you think, i still use these boards, and would simply like to know that the donations are being put to good use. that’s all. if anything, it would be an act of sincerity towards the members of this club.
if you can’t, or in this case, refuse to sustain your accountability, what reason does anyone have to think otherwise?

i’m having alot of fun arguing with your guys to be honest. I find people who dont really know what is going on are all over the place and it’s fun to have these kind of discussions where i know whats actually going on and you dont.

regardless of bing or any other vendors, and as bob mentioned before, i know that i for one would like to see a yearly statement of donations, vendor advertising, and club expenses… then i’d gladly pay for a membership.
however, so long as i don’t know how my money is being spent, regardless of how much or how little it is, there’s no reason for me to trust you (considering that information’s been kept under wraps). i know not everyone feels the same way, but this would be a good way to build some trust in the community and draw in some more memberships.
so long as i’m sure that the money is being spent wisely on things that would benefit the club, i wouldn’t have a problem donating more. but until then, no shot.

I ran one with Pavel about 4 years ago, Driftland it was called. Our site offered tech articles written by me and I wrote the RB install article before it was being done regularily. There were about 25 articles in total IIRC.
As to what I do now, I’m sure I could go on for a while about it, but alas, it has nothing to do with this thread.
So rather then smoke screen as to why my suggestions aren’t credible, maybe you should consider my recommendations for the betterment of the club, and not you or your ego.

Of all persons ever responsible for collecting funds, i was the only one who posted how much i had and i still have it and it is still public information. I did NOT collect all this money, someone else did it last year and didnt want to be held responsible for it so they gave it to me.
This year the same thing happened, i had to ask repeatedly for someone else to accept donations and record the names of persons. It happened, we have the $$$ and the list.
The previous paypal account was unaccessible to me, G and anyone else for that matter and the funds were not available for general club use. So we x-nayed that paypal account and set up one in the name of the club that is all of 2 weeks old or less. People are donating and we finally have records that are accessible.all of these things happened before you bitched about it here.
In other words, everything you have suggested that we do we /I have already begun doing. When you combine that with the fact that you have no credibility in any way shape or form amongst even your peers it makes perfect sense that i dont take you seriously.
This big-byrd dude got duped into thinking your concerns were valid, when in fact, as i have laid out in point form, i had already addressed them in the previous weeks, months and years. You are out of the loop as you should be because everything you’ve done turns into nothing (site: son hardcore, driftland, whatever else.)

They are legitimate concerns, because there isn’t a list on this site with anything said with regards to you keep records or making them available. People are supposed to read your mind? Sounds like a backtrack with no evidence.
How are people supposed to know anything if you don’t tell them? Furthermore this thread was started with respect to the administrators not making the information public. Look where we are again.
You can chase your tail all day, and basically inject baseless claims and irrelevant information all you want.
The issue still remains. I hope your administrator discussions don’t work in such a brutally inefficient and backwards way as your arguements do.
Not only that, but you’re still avoiding the topic at hand. Frankly if someone I’m an aquaintence with took money from the club, they deserve the same fate anyone who steals money should get.
