I’m going to have my car back from a complete repaint on Saturday. I’m shooting to get it together and get it to Carlisle the following weekend. Will the sun affect the paint? I’m probably going to trailer it there to avoid chips since I can’t clear bra it yet.
Found the answer on PPG’s site. Nevermind.
Well does it?
I doubt it. If anything it should just degas faster
With a low quality clear it could affect it as far as fogging it from UV.
The clear that’s being used on mine won’t be affected, and it will actually just help it degas faster. All I know is that they’re spraying mine with the best clear PPG has available.
This is from the shop doing the work. (not a site sponsor so I won’t mention names)
after its cured after a few days, the sun will only help cure everything, so some sunlight will be more beneificial, then cause any damage
Yeah. I ended up finding this out after the first post. There’s UV protectant in the clear so that won’t affect it either.
This is my first real paintjob, so I just wanted to make sure that I don’t do anything that will screw it up.
