this IS a good thing. i just wish they’d take it a step further and have a receiver inside the vehicle that gets a signal that tells it what the maximum speed on that particular road is. kinda like a gps thing, but not really. so your kid can go the speed limit tops. just kinda develop it all the way. im sure they have the technology to do something like that and with a mass production scale of these cars the cost will be low per unit. that’d be a good feature to have in your kid’s first car. that way, no speeding tickets either. helps keep their insurance rates lower, everybody wins.
I dont understand why you keep bringing up what you were looking for when you bought your car. Whats your point?
baby steps…
that i did. your point?
not reliable and expensive to fix…great car for a kid
he bought an auto 2.7T… a 6speed wouldnt be half as bad… good luck with things start breaking. trust me! ive owned my fair share of german rattle boxes.
my car’s very reliable. all ive needed to do is normal maintenance stuff. the software, dv’s and exhaust and other smaller things i wanted to do. theres no safety and reliability issues. i wouldnt recommend u buying THIS particular car for a kid, unless u can afford to. in general though, its an excellent car.
Good luck when drive train parts start to. Id like to see you change turbos on it
wait until your turbo dies. youll hate it. unless you want to bring it to Nicks Audi repair with parts and CASH, then we’ll take good care of it.
ding ding ding.
i wanted a stick shift because of that one extra gear that would be nicer on mpg on highway cruising, other than that i dont give a crap. i dont race the car, so tiptronic works perfectly fine for me. if i wanted a race vehicle, i wouldnt be adding weight to it with audio and such. it’d be stripped and caged. remember guys, im not a racer nor am i trying to be one. i dont drag race anyone. i dont talk smack to other drivers. i dont call ppl out and i dont go out to the extension to even watch others race.
Thank god there are enough fools down there
parts go on all cars. just depends on when. i know its expensive to fix and im okay with it. i’ll do what i have to do when i have to. simple as that, man.
hey, if you guys give me a good rate on a k04 swap and treat my car well, i very well just might. i have no problems supporting a local business
when the time comes. im sure AMD IS THE BEST isnt opposed to making money.
Not that Ive seen
figure the APR stage 3 cost of the kit + installed goes for 10-12k from alot of shops… im sure with parts included we could do it for alot less than the 5-6k worth of labor that shops are charging.
i was talking to the APR team this weekend. I talked to the owner, the mechanics, techs, Ian Baas was there. He was goofing off in my car. They found us out there on the track and brought us stuff. We hung out for a while. But we ended up talking for a while and they basically said that if i dont care about top end, like 85+ i can rebuild the turbos i have now with the k04 rebuild kit and bored them out a little or swap k04’s in there.
Back on topic im putting a smart key in your gti so you cant go over 40mph :crackup
i dont drive over 40 very often as it is. no need.
