Next time I hear “They aren’t Muslims. They don’t practice Islam, but their interpretation of it” I will throw up. Especially when it comes from government. What’s up with this need or desire to defend them. The whole concept of religion is that if they believe in it, they are whatever they believe in. Who the hell gave the government the right to decide on that.
US foreign policy is a joke, we all know it. They will arm random rebels with antitank weapons in a country that is Russias puppy, because that won’t irritate the Russians. At the same time, they won’t give defensive weapons to a legitimate country and army called Ukraine because that will irritate the Russians. Yes my views are biased, I have family in Ukraine.
In the past few days, O’Bama, Kerry and some others have clearly shown that “moron” is just the start of their description.
I would put a lot of money that a group of handgun owners getting shot at aren’t as cool and collected as they see with panic, people running around, and bombs going off around them but hey, I guess if NYSpeed was there we would prevent all kinds of terrorism. I would prefer to not get hit by some jackass trying to save the day shooting wildly who has zero experience and thinks they aren’t going to hide when chaos breaks out. I guess our soldiers should man up too since the average American possess the skills to fight off terrorists based on NYSpeed logic when exchanging fire.
A subset of that group of handgun owners are trained to be as cool and collected as possible can be in situations like that.
Yes. There is a few that have experience in military or police forces that can evaluate a situation and respond. That is not who I am worried about. It is the average joe that sits at a desk all day and has zero situation awareness and training. While the one on one or the guy running into a building with a gun getting shot by someone trained is one thing but lets be real here, this is mass panic with explosions, planning, and high powered rifles. Not some kid with a shot gun shooting up a school.
Firing under stress/duress is an eye-opener for a lot of people. Training that way definitely makes a better shooter. Range time is all fine and dandy but if you’re just plinking away at a paper target you’re not doing yourself any favors.
Just stop. I’m sure you’d much rather be sitting with 100’s of people, none of them armed, as terrorists stand on a balcony firing at you with AK’s while shouting Allah Akbar than run the risk that someone in the crowd with a concealed carry permit might accidentally hit you while trying to return fire.
I would be like the other 1000 people freaking the fuck out and running for my life.

And you would be amazed at how fast those guys fall apart once a timer (aka stress simulated) is added.
I’m about as pro 2nd as it comes and I will be the first to admit 95% of the people who carry have damn near zero ability to make it work when it counts
So democrats in their wisdom want to ban people on the terrorist watch list from buying firearms which sounds like a great idea…besides the fact the fucking list is secret and you’re not supposed to know you’re on it.
So now when you magically get denied hmmm I wonder.
What about the 73 airport workers on the no fly list? The left hand still doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
We have so many agencies competing against each and not sharing information that I’m amazed we haven’t had much happen after 9/11. 9/11 wasn’t some government cover up conspiracy, maybe just that the government tried to cover up just what a joke they are. There was plenty of information out there between FBI and CIA etc that there was an attack coming, but the agencies don’t communicate so it happened.
Kind of the issue with mass surveillance, instead of breaking up the haystack to find the needle, we put the haystack in the giant barn and add hundreds of stacks to it.
Same old story, incompetence of government knows no bounds
If you could deport 1 child, isn’t it worth it?
edited title rather than starting a new thread… 34 dead and 230+ injured as of latest count.
also, turkey caught one of these guys, deported him to Belgium, and they let him go… in the last year… that suuucks
Two co workers were in Brussels the day it happened, missed the bombing by about 20 mins and have been stuck since.
Religion of Peace via continued random violence to make their intentions clear.
Turn their country, their families and their friends in to glass already.
Don’t worry, this current generation coming up through college is totally prepared to deal with terrorism…
i guess we figured out why this all happened in brussels… Michelle bachmann says it’s god’s way ot humiliating Obama for going to cuba?
i caught this on my FB feed and this was the most reliable source for it
it seems more and more than Brussels was asking for this or at least not at all prepared and in denial about the likelihood of an attack. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-belgium-blast-usa-intelligence-idUSKCN0WQ0BU
Brussels couldn’t or wouldn’t supply intelligence on the Paris Attacks to the US and others.
what a wake up call this is going to be
