What a scumbag.
i would never leave my car with a valet even though it’s nothing special. I just don’t trust them. When the galleria valet opened up, my mom left her murano with them. We came back to find a laptop and blackberry missing out of it. They claimed no responsibility and got mad when we asked them if they saw anything.
That company didn’t last long at that account for reasons just like that.
haha he got owned
I’ll valet if I’m going out somewhere nice for the evening, like the Chop House, but a place like that has zero tolerance for asshattery. Plus it’s kind of funny when my car is no where in sight but I can hear it the instant the valet fires it up to bring it back. My wife usually just looks at me and says something like, “that’s obviously your car”.
No way I’d do it where I’m leaving my car for a full day or more though.
One time I stayed at the Embacy Suites where valet parking is the only option. I wouldn’t let them drive my car and requested that I drive it to the parking ramp. They weren’t thrilled about it, but they let me do it.
What do you drive?
My thoughts on this is worst case they wreck the car and you pwn the valet company.
It’s not like you couldn’t snap a digital pic of the odometer before and after.
This. I would think this would be the first thought in my mind before handing the keys over to my car for any valet situation, especially in a case like this where they are leaving it for days.
However I also wouldn’t be dumb enough to leave a nice car
It’s not like you couldn’t take a taxi/whatever to anyplace where your traveling for multiple days.
My wife and I were travelling out of town years ago and had a rental car (shitty Buick). We went to the Cheesecake Factory near Atlanta and they had valet only parking. After dinner, we came out to a lot of hustling and bustling of the valet guys. One of them had backed a full size, lifted, 1 ton dually over our rental car. The manager of the restarant informed us the valet company is separate from the restarant. So we asked for the valet manager, when he eventually showed up he claimed this was the risk people take when using valet parking. He continued to refuse to handle the situation monetarily because “these things happen”. When we had the cops arrive on the scene, the manager refused to speak with them. Not sure whatever happened with that, but eventually the rental company sent another car over and we missed the ferry to the wedding we had flown into town for. We called the valet company when we got back to Rochester, the owner told us he had fired the manager and his obligation was over.
such bullshit hope they went under
I’m too poor to go anywhere that Valets…
Jeller once valeted his car, with a somewhat similar outcome
was just about to say that Ian, no way would that happen under Josh’s watch
Whenever I drop my car off for ANYTHING i take a pic of the miles with the front of the business in the background.
That sux
Ugh. In for story.
They caught him multiple times on film and he still denies it. Own up you pussy. I’d make him completely detail it inside and out, new set of tires, gas for a month, as well as bash his face in.
This was not a valet, i believe it was for a company that parks your car while you are gone on a cruise…similar but i dont know if it could be considered valet parking.
Fine, updated the title.
