I had planned on rebuilding this motor for boost (300hp) but I bought an entire setup for cheaper than I could build it. Out of a 1991 fastback. (auto)
The only reason I rebuilt this motor was because the front cover was leaking oil, and it was smoking (due to rings) It had 235,000KM on it at the point of rebuild.
Block has been hot tanked, Honed, Has new bearings (Rods & Mains), rings, frost plugs and painted.
Head has been cleaned, decked, and has new valve guides installed.
All new Victor Reinz gaskets, seals, head gasket.
Rebuilt with Lucas Oil assembly lube.
All bolts have been torqued to FSM specs.
EGR has been blocked on the intake, Just rebuilt the starter 3000kms ago.
Only shitty thing is, where the upper timing chain tensioner bolts to the block, the bolts were cross threaded when I took them out. So that will need to be fixed. Other than that, there are no problems.
As the motor sits now, the cams are installed, the timing chains, lower tensioner and guides are installed. Its ready to be put back together.
I also have a video of the last time the motor was running, if anyone wants to see/hear it?
^Before^ (Obviously)
