4 people at lucky drag city!
We can all die together lol
I’m in on that party haha
Here are some more useless photos for the weekend. How the car sits as of now, a lot of progress should happen next week.
tucked a lot of the wiring away and relocated the power steering reservoir to the firewall.

Do you guys want this thread in the STM forum or the Builds forum? Builds would get a lot more attention and I can leave a redirect behind here. Let me know.
Yea that’s fine josh. Do er up!
Done
Why leave the headliner in? It’s not only your car that I’ve noticed this on but others as well. You’re stripping it down everywhere else except for the roof, why not take that out as well? :gotme:
With how tight the cage is, getting the interior panels far enough away to even allow the headliner in and out without damage would be kind of difficult.
Well yeah I mean take it out and keep it out.
I believe the whole interior is going back in complete.
Oh, I was under the impression that this was being stripped for a track car.
Yea the whole interior will be going back in. Just had to pull everything to take out the extra weight that is underneath everything, there’s some bs firewall padding that’s atleast 15lbs

Nah I’ll still be rocking it on the street. Just when I went to the track last year I missed how much I used to race the car and getting kicked out after one pass is aggrevating
With almost 800hp…what is 15lbs really worth?
a lot when it’s 15lbs times 8 other things Lol
do you use your enkei’s at the track or do you still have those FD Wheels?
Ok…so lets call it 150 lbs…how many more hp would you have to make to compensate for that? 3?
im gonna be using fd wheels with qtps. Even though I’m probably gonna light them up at the track, I will probably just borrow emerys slicks.
a lot more than that, most of the weight coming off the car this year is rotational
150lbs is still .15 seconds off your time, that would have given Paul his elusive 9second pass
And that’s just dead weight. Ricer math is basically, every lb of rotational weight can equate to roughly 1hp I believe. I took off a little more than 200 lbs rotational on mine. You probably won’t notice a small amount, but when it’s a bigger number like Paul’s it does make a big difference.
My car is like 500hp or something, it would run way faster at the track if everything was left the same minus weight loss. Same with Paul’s.
There’s a reason STM got a stock turbo ~400hp car to run low 10s when most ppl run mid to low 11s on the same setup
I understand the rotating mass…but dead weight like sound deadening etc. has always seemed silly to me unless you were running like a X.01 and wanted to get into the next time bracket.
I hope all of the effort meets your goals.
For me pulling it, it’s more of a thing to do while you’re in there since everything had to come out for the cage anyway
Engine bay is looking good Paul. Sorry if they are duplicates, Austin sent me to take photos before I checked the thread… but here they are anyhow
So far, cleaning up some wiring, tucked the power steering res in the back, nice aluminum 3" STM intercooler pipe, cleaned up the COP… Nothing “MAJOR” but it’s all the small details that really stand out. That’s how STM gets down
When it’s totally and completely done, I’ll try and match the photo angles exactly from the originals.
