paypal question

So, Ive got all my PC parts listed on the evga website for sale. And I just sold the cpu and heatsink. The guy sent me the money as a “gift”. Paypal doesnt take a cut of the money if you send things as a gift. So Ive got $240 sittin there and paypal didn’t take any of it.

Ive never seen anybody do that before, so should I be paranoid? He can’t take it back or anything right? Just alot of BS ya gotta look out for online and I wanted to ask if this a no risk kind of thing. Im probably being paranoid but Id rather ask and see if anybody has done this before and if there is a catch or not. Thanks for the replies.

Check out LAFENGAS’s post on page 3.

Yup.

Yea, he pretty much signed up for a scam on your part lol.
NEVER send money as a gift

Just make sure it is “cleared” into your paypal

Ok sweet. The money is there. Just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t falling for a scam. Turns out…he set himself up for one lol. Oh boy…

I’ve received money as a “gift” a few times for small graphic design jobs. However, they were always small amounts…and yet took forever to actually go into my account.
