Thought you guys would be interested in that.

that guy sucks.

fuck paypal and fuck ebay

Paypal doesnt take a SS# or anything of the sort. Let it go to collections, tell them to go fuck themselves and only contact you by mail, deposit in garbage, win.

Yeah paypal is pretty much shit when it comes to protecting people that aren’t scammers.

Im surprised this topic isnt getting more attention. I mean…is it rare that paypal ''reviews" transactions? And of course by review I mean, go into somebodys account and steal their rightful money in hopes of them not having a reciept to prove that the person got their item. A couple people on Evga had it happen to them. Im surprised nobody here had that happen to them. I think im gonna cancel both my ebay and my paypal and stick with cragslist…

I dont know. Just seems like a huge deal to me. Paypal is stealing from people and theres nothing anybody can do about it. Just bend over and take it in the ass.

thats why i instalntly move # from my paypal account to my bank account where they cant touch it…

but you can only move 500 a month…

WRONG! They still take money out. i thought that would prevent them from doing it as well, but I was wrong. A member on evga corrected me on that assumption.

Paypal really can’t win can they?

First you guys bitch that they don’t do enough to protect buyers.

Now you bitch that they’re doing too much by withholding funds on suspicious transactions.

How would you like paypal to work?

Upgrade the account. You can move as much as you want then.

Read. Educate yourself. Paypal is a huge scam. huge.

They can’t take the money back from your bank account if it’s already in there. If you’re worried, tell your bank to hold EFT transactions from paypal.

it sucks cus paypal is by far the best and most convenient way to pay for stuff on ebay. Hell…you cant even sell w/o it really. Too bad they are fuckin people so bad with “reviews”. But i guess its been going on for awhile now. I just heard about it the other day.

I have had major issues with paypal in the past… for example, withdrawing two $3000 withdrawals out of my account when i only authorized one, putting me into overdraft.

What is worse, is that at teh time (about 4 years ago) paypal was still hiring bottom feeder, welfare momma’s who would jacking people for their loot all the time.

There are former paypal employees on paypalsucks.com who have exposed some of the things that went on there.

Paypal employees giving out private info to their friends to make off with tons of cash.

however, faster forward to this year.

Paypal has made a 180 degree turn around in my opinion.

i had my hotmail account stolen. They got my CC info and my paypal info… someone stole $250 out of my paypal and $1000 out of my bank account… i got it all back asap.

Paypal called me on a saturday afternoon to ask if the transation was legit… i said nope… reveresed immediately.

They monitor your click stream and create a typical profile for how you log in. the guy that jacked me used another method and they called me right away. That is some awesome shit if you ask me.

i had my paypal account stolen 4-5 times in a 72 hour period and i did not lose $1.

i have sent and received hundreds of thousands of dollars through paypal without issue other than those mentioned above, both of which were resolved.

it’s exactly like a credit card… they hit you with unseen charges and charge you way more interest… why not get mad at MC or Visa?

throwing a tantrum over paypal or ebay is high school girlie shit… just protect yourself.

I took my bank account off of paypal and now have it only tied to a credit card, thinking that it would be a tad more secure since they don’t have direct access to my cash, if something were to go wrong I’d have 2 channels to dispute it through, collections is the only way they could ultimately “take” my money, etc. Is there any validity to my thought process or am I just being naive?

You should be good. That way if you get nervous, call your CC company and request a different number and you know you’re untouchable. Also, if you get scammed buying something and do a CC chargeback, paypal will credit you and go after the other guy for the money. Of course, I got scammed in reverse as a seller, since the buyer did this. I just let the paypal account go into the negative and get locked and made a new one

Long story short, they took $630 from my account, closed it, and didn’t give it back for 6 months. I didn’t have any disputes, but somehow, I was selling on eBay with someone who owed them a massive sum of $42 and didn’t know it. It was from an account closed many years ago, and all I can think is that they found his address linked to my eBay account. The WORST part was I made at least 6 calls to even figure that out. They gave me the run-around and in the beginning, made my think it was a “safety” precaution that made them close my account. Every 30-minute call got me a step further to the truth, and every time they told me a surefire way to get my account unlocked that did not fucking work. They hire all these morons in fucknuckle Arkansas or something, people who would otherwise be cashing people out at WalMart, and probably give them a detailed list how to stall pissed-off customers. They wanted business info and I was not a business, tracking numbers that did not exist, and all kinds of other BS. They can hold your money without just cause, and they probably make a lot of interest off people’s cash that way. I’ve learned a bit about protecting myself since then. Problem is I now make my living on eBay, and 90% of people use them, and you are less likely to get a deadbeat bidder. So you really don’t have a choice. They are not a bank, not FDIC regulated, so protect yourself.

so when is a new company gonna come out to try to steal some business from paypal?

bidpay, hyperwallet…

the banks should be doing it… they do EMT up here in canada. e-mail bank transfer from account to account… costs $1.50 each time.
