The app & signup is pretty simple. They asked me why the cats had been treated with an antibiotic recently since I noted it in the app process (all via email BTW), i stated house fire, minor smoke exposure, that was it. IDK if they actually check the records or not honestly.
As far as cost - like I said we spent almost 2gs on two cats for antibiotics; Xrays; emergency visit & kenneling. If something were to happen again, or something accident or injury or something, the insurance would save you a BIG chunk of change.
If you pay $150 / yr per animal, and the animal lives 10 yrs and you use it once (hewaven forbid) it pays for itself. As with any ins.

quick quote for my 8 week old lab, cheapest plan $15.50, most expensive $49.75. Changed his age to 5 years old and it went cheapest $18.67 and $56.92 for most expensive. So it definitely went up a few bucks.

$17.25 for the Maltese for pretty decent coverage. “Common, Expensive, and Emergency” problems. Seizures, tooth extractions, hit by a car, etc. $200 for a year, if we save one $1k bill in the next 5 years we break even. The odds of that are probably pretty good. If my coverage can begin immediately I’ll probably do it now.
$17.98 for the other dog. Mixed breed, maybe a year older than the Maltese? I would have thought the mix would be way cheaper since they’re healthier. Must be primarily based on age.

Careful with pet insurance. My sister in law had it on her english mastiff and they wouldn’t cover shit when she needed it. The dog ended up getting put down at the age of 4.
Sonofabitch. I get home home from the groomers at 4:30, set him down on the kitchen floor and he starts stumbling around like a drunk, neck curled back, flopping over, tremoring. Must have gone on for 60 seconds. He was coherent the whole time though, almost seemed more like a stroke or something. :ohnoes:
Off to the animal hospital for bloodwork when it opens at 6! My stupid vet was closed and the other one I called couldn’t take him.
