So, have you ever felt like you were on a bad episode of a tv show but it was real life. Well thats the feeling I got today when I went with my mom to pick up here 1.7EL at the edmonton police impound. Her car was stolen last week from the parkade at her work. Huge pictures to follow. This car was 100% stock when it was stolen. It was garage stored and virtually scratch free before this happened. The car was serviced at acura its entire life and actually had the transmission replaced under warrenty 3 months or so ago.

Mods include, Gauges, Full stereo install including a set of alpine subs, interior neon, front emblem, rear emblems shaved, radar detector and exhaust tip.

:slight_smile: dude are u sure its her car ? like is motor ok and shiet., is frame in 1 chunk.Woring in insurance i heard stories of ppl getting their car jacked and getting than getting back via police recovery a lemon frame or blown motor car of the same colour , vin # gets swaped so u think its ur mom’s car? or different shell same colour
the way people get busted is there is ussaully vin stickers and shiet under ur bumper etc on new cars about 10-12 of them so look over a few places and make sure vin matches.Same with motor vin if u still paperwork stating ur original or NVIs copy .
Should go check out acura boards see if there is any 1.7 turbo el’s :rolleyes:

I went and checked the firewall stamp to the dash one, and then those to the insurance papers we have here… Its the same car. I checked the engine bay before we even attempted to start the car when it was in the impound lot. Its not turbocharged… the guages are not properly installed… they just screwed them into the dash.

Why the hell would anyone do that to a stolen car? I thought cars were stolen to be stripped not modded… :roll:

its to bad they didn’t keep the probe for the pyrometer… I could have actually used that.

Not very common to see. 1.7ELs generally have good trannies.
