Pizza Thread

Recent trip to Italy. I’d go back just for the pizza. I think I took a pic of all but one.

In Hamilton there are a few good places for traditional thin crust pizzas.

NaRoma on Locke st. is pretty good as are Baci in the C hotel and La Spaghett on Upper James.

Lot’s in Toronto with Pizza Libretto and Teroni probably being the best in the West end.

For American style pizza the only good place i know of at all in southern Ontario is Fabio’s in St. Catharines. It’s excellent for slices and they move steady walk-in traffic so it’s always super fresh. It’s great great pizza but not quite as good as Picassos imho.

i miss real pizza

Mazia’s in clarence is my favorite pizza place.

Zahz by the airport. I’m there 50-75% of the time for lunch if anyone wants a handy… Owner will see to anything you can imagine, salads, sandwiches and anything else to order. #handy #carpultunnel

I like pizza

fun fact Jam used to sleep on the futon at the ritz in exchange for pizza…

That is correct! Best deal I’ve ever made

speaking of pizza… i have a Gift certificate for a FREE LG cheese and 1 item for ZIP’S PIZZA. This is left over from a benefit last week. They have 3 locations 409 Grant, 1127 Tonawanda St, 1241 Hertel Ave. Free for anyone who wants it.

Fuck. Yes. Their pizza is awesome.

I miss Italy.

Imperial and La Pizza Club are my favs

When I worked at derrick they had imperial delivered every day…So so good

Sent from my MotoX using Tapatalk

Imperial is always first choice

I still like Pasquale’s in EA. Big controversy: Pasquale’s wants to tear done Irving Price’s(Fisher-Price fame) old house to make more parking. It is not mansion or anything like that so…

Pasquale’s is good, and I bet their pocket books are too, it’s always busy at the take out area.

X…

People are ripping on Pasquale’s on facebook. Yeah they really suck, I guess that’s why they only do about $10,000 per day. lol

That’s usually how it goes. “OMG I have a favorite restaurant that is better than everything else, therefore your suggestion sucks and their food is dog shit”. People just want to feel superior 24/7

All of the Bozanna’s are closed now. Sad time in Buffalo Pizza history. With Bozanna’s and Pizza Junction closed the only place that carries on that tradition is Good Guys in NT. That is also one of my favorites.

Word. NY style refers to NYC style pizza. Down there they are all superstitious. They all use the same flour from the same flour mill, the same cheese from the same producers. If one place does it and they are successful they all follow suit.

Buffalo is almost exactly in the middle between Chicago and NYC. So it suits us that we have a middle of the road between the two. Deep crust, thin dough (on a pie that is prepared right it should be thin on the bottom if you get a fluffy one that’s because it sat out and the yeast continued to rise, also known as bloat) great sauce on the sweet side but not lockport sweet, copious amounts of cheese and toppings.

Imperial is my current go to favorite in Buffalo.

YES! Let’s do it.

A quick search of yellowpages.com shows 499 results for pizza in the Buffalo area. Each area of WNY has a place that stands out amongst the rest.
Here are my favorite places broken down by area (that are currently open).

South Buffalo: Imperial Pizza

West Side: La Nova but only for their specialty pizzas

East Side: Avenue pizza near Bailey and Broadway

Lovejoy: Lovejoy Pizza for their stuffed banana pepper pizza

North Buffalo: Nothing of note.

Elmwood Village: Mister Pizza (Casa is not that special and Vera doesn’t do it for me)

Kenmore: Is a pizza dead zone do not go here.

West Seneca/Elma/Lancaster: Santora’s Pizza on Transit near Clinton (same owners and family as all of the Picasso’s but this place is the top of them all.)

Overall South Towns: Bella Pizza in North Boston, better than the one on South Park in Lackawanna.

Overall North Towns: Good Guys in North Tonawanda

Lockport: Lock City Pizza

Tonawanda: Mattina’s

Amherst area between the UB campuses: Leonardi’s

As for specialties…

NY style: Joe’s NY style pizza at Grant and Amherst is as good as it gets

Wood fired: Rocco’s Pizza in Williamsville/East Amherst actually pretty good if you get a normal toppings pie. The other shit is a mess.

These are all personal preferences and opinions, some people may feel differently.

This place is actually pretty great too. Way better than when it was Christophers. Do you work there?
