Anybody have the hookup on getting an ignition key cut?

My gf lost her keys and didn’t have a spare set. Dealerships want 100+

It’s a 98 Malibu, no special key probably would’ve cost 2 dollars probably at a hardware store for a duplicate but too little too late, you know how that goes.

If anybody has a hookup let me know to try and save her a few bucks.

I can cut the key.I need a key code though.

How do I get the code, from the vin?

Yes call up the chevy dealer and get the code through vin.
I might have blanks for it too.

She didn’t call it in yet because she was at class til after the dealership closed.

I doubt it though since she doesn’t have the title in Buffalo with her. (At least anytime I’ve tried to get a key processed they’ve required title/proof of ownership)

damn that sucks man. i lost the only key to my '99 civic and the honda dealership only charged 8 bucks to cut one with the vin. chevy’s price is outrageous if it doesn’t have an immobilizer.

When I wanted to get a copy of my A4 key it was 200 and I was supplying the blank fob already. I said eff that.
