Places to go for paint?

Hmm

Personal experience VS what the internet says.

I wonder who has the better argument.

Everything on the internet is true. I thought everyone knew that.

WHATS IS WRONG WITH U , I MADE LIKE 2 POSTS SAYING NO I DIDN’T USE IT AND NOW U GET IT. WHAT U DON’T GET IS U SPEND 80$ NOT 2000$ SO U SHOULD EXPECT UR CAR TO LOOK LIKE SHIET , NO ONE TELLS U MAJIC WILL HAPPEN AND U WILL HAVE CAMELEON TREMCLAD. SHIET A SUGGESTION TO TRY TURNS INTO ARGUMENT. FUCK POST A PIC OF UR TREMCLAD EXPIRIENCE LETS SEE. AND WHO DOESN’T PREFER BASE/CLEAR, BUT IF I HAVE A 500$ CAR WILL I SPEND 2000 PAINTING IT NO!!.
50$ ?..MAYBE.
AS FAR AS DEFENDING THAT SHIET WELL GO READ THE LINKS 30 PEOPLE SAY ITS WORTH THE 50$ 1 OF U SAYS NO, MAYBE U DON’T KNOW HO TO USE A FOAM ROLLER?

Okay, I give up. You’ve convinced me. Do the tremclad lou. IT WILL LOOK AMAZING… for a ~$50 paint job Pics of my results? I rattle canned over it. It looked decent in certain lighting(best in pitch black). I know you haven’t used tremclad, and that’s why I am still wondering why you are recommending it.

I painted the inside of the race car with tremclad… its flat white. I think it looks fine.

How far off would it be if I only did select body panels by Maaco, in relation to the rest of the car?

mm maaco usses single stage enamels on most jobs, thats not base clear paint. Factore is base and clear coat 2 stage paint. so way offf. unless u tell them to use base+clear , in which case i would go any paint supply that does color match and order enough base+clear to redo extra panels. bring in ur fuel tank door etc for them to scan ur colour and match it. Than yah maaaco any autobody painter can spray the panels for you, than take em home and put them on.

id say its worth the $50 on a shit car you need to make one color but I too have painted with tremclad and it sucks shit!!

Polly base and single stage paint is much better. Single stage isnt as bad as everyone thinks either. I like polly base “base clear” becuase it has more depth and has a more professional look. Though single stage takes much less prep and its only 1 top coat. No clear to worrie about. I can almost prep a decent car and sprey single stage in a day but I can take much much longer time getting the job done right with polly base.

for plolly base you need your car sanded atleast to 400 grit and its nice to have a quick wetsand to finish it off but with single stage you dont need sich a fine sand scratch and wetsanding wouldnt matter. That shit fills lots of lil scratches and is sticky as shit.
