Portable/Affordable garage heaters?

Any recommendation? Like sub-$90 range?

I bought a Noma one for $70+tax from Canadian Tire after seeing it at
a friend’s house thinking it would do the job in my one car garage (vs his
two car garage).

I leave it running for 1hr on full power in the garage, only to return after
the elapsed time to find the garage still freakin cold (i could see my breath). :run:

I know Winter is almost up but I know we’ll have a few more freezing
weekends (which is the only time I get to work on the car).

This is the POS I bought that I’ll be returning tomorow

For under a hundred bucks, you are only going to get shit. You trust leaving your car alone in a confined space with some POS built in china? I wouldn’t.

Get propane, it will cost you a abit more, but it won’t break or burn your car up (your parents will be happier too cause those electric ones suck the hydro Boeyyyyyyy.

yea theo is right, or if your hardcore get a natural gas heater, they are good $/BTU efficency, shops usually have those, but theyr mad $$$

how about this one? It’s twice the price for the one you have right now, but runs on propane tanks and portable too. Hell I’d probably get one like this too if I had space in my garage.

i have seen the ones that run on the propane tanks they are good!!

something like this might be what youre looking for.

Propane heaters from CT they are about 100 buck and they screw onto a propane tank (like the one for your BBQ) they work AWESOME! Even outside it warms a good 3 - 4 foot area in front of it so in a garage they work MINT.

Hurricane is right. I have one in my garage it and kicks ass.

but they do wear out after a certain # of hours.

I’ve had mine for the past couple winters and it just took a crap last weekend when I was working on my car.

i use a propane attactment heats up fast its not 1 of those big cylinder

ones tho those can get pricey but i have this attachment that goes directly

onto the propane can almost looks like a sunflower the middle of the

flower if you want to picture it burns and turns red hot and heats my

garage works really well and i think they are cheap

sounds like the exact one that i have.

All this propane talk is making this man happy

hahahaha nice.

Propane, and propane accesories.

Hehehe… call up Paul at Neetronics and tell him your interested in his hard-core propane heater. It doesn’t BLAST heat like those hurricane type propane heaters, instead it radiates heat like a mofo and does it very efficently.

let’s bring this back to life. with winter coming soon, i need something to heat my garage to work on car.

the info on here is a little dated… so has anything changed? anyone have any good suggestions?

Propane heaters work like a champ.

Propane heaters in a confined area like a single car garage is retarded.

I have a good one - Promat 25T (middle - 85000 btu), but the lack of oxygen is sort of a bad idea.

I’m running a duct out to my garage with a complete shutoff. New garage door + seals + Roxul in the walls + this duct will be boss this winter.

Little electric heaters don’t do nearly enough. Inside they’re great, but a garage space is a little large. ( http://www.princessauto.com/all-seasons/seasonal/electric-heaters/electric-heaters/8325359-1500w-ceramic-pro-series-heater )

Used something like this, worked really well. Only problem was that I had to intermittently turn it off and on to make sure the propane lasted. Obviously the price is not too nice either. ( http://www.princessauto.com/all-seasons/seasonal/electric-heaters/electric-heaters/8325359-1500w-ceramic-pro-series-heater ) It definitely beats filling your garage with eight of the electric ones though.

no friends who are HVAC peoples? I got a lightly used furnace for about $150 IIRC…

I’ve got a home furnace in my shop, NG - 0 - 20 in about an hour 946sq/ft
