Figured I’d give AMD a shot, used to be a huge AMD Fanboy till the Core 2’s came out. From some benchmarks I’ve seen this thing keeps up their pretty well with the i7 line of Intel shit… which is a lot more exspensive
Hopefully it doesnt fail me, otherwise back to intel it is
^ i haz an AMD dual core and it works well. my old man has the quad core phenom, its pretty sick,
My old Core 2 6550 finally shit the bed, probably the past 4 years of running it at ~3ghz on the stock cooler finally took its affect, plus the case had horrible ventilation so that probably had something to do with it
I temporarily using a comp from here at work with a Dual Core Athlon 6000+, actually runs better than the 6550 did.
THe Phenom II 965 is only 140 bucks, vs the i5 thats around $200… and the i7 which is about 300, and from some of the benchmarks I’ve been looking at its pretty close to the i7-950
AMD’s don’t overclock as well, but Ima try and keep it stock for a little bit.
AMD is good shit, thats all i run.
Its all I used to run, till the Core 2’s came out because you could buy the slowest POS one, and overclock the shit out of it with extreme ease compared to AMD’s
but for the price you cant beat AMD Price-Performance ratio
Explain. With extreme ease.
Most of the Core 2’s and now with the i Series can overclock with the stock coolers, take a lot of heat without issue… On stock voltage or with minimal voltage increases
Where as other chips/older intels and still with AMD’s they get pretty hot, dont like heat and need a good air cooler/water cooling in order to overclock and require a lot more voltage
Bout time
