It was a bitch grounding my trailer. I ended up running a ground to a drilled hole/screw on the tongue and still had to ground the taillights to each other or something completely fucked up to get the lights to work.
One of these days Im going to rip the harness out and put a new one in but I havent needed the trailer in such a long time that I cant justify spending the time to do that.
Yea, the tires are great for what I’m using them for. My only previous R-comp experience was on the same size R888s, but they had 45-50 heat cycles on them so they were getting quite hard, but still had a lot more available grip than my RE-11 street tires.
Towing w/ X5:
Car trailer: $4k
Hitch: $1,200 installed from BMW
Extra wear on X5, mileage, etc…: $???
Total: $4,200+
Towing w/ M3:
Trailer: $220
Hitch: $500?
Extra wear on M3 (which I don’t care nearly as much about): < X5 costs
Total: $720+
Since the car doesn’t have a cage, I see no reason to tow it w/ the X5 yet given the costs associated. Not to mention needing to store the trailer somewhere over the winter, or even between events, will make it a pain in the ass.
Plus the hitch assembly for the M3 will add some rigidity to the rear of the car. :rofl
$1,200 was the installed price, as the ECU requires reprogramming for the trailer brakes and transmission. It’s only about $550 or so in parts. Prolly should’ve mentione that.
of course dude! That’s the whole point. That jacobs spacer for a 4-53 is believe it or not the hardest part of the whole system to find!!! Had to snag this while I had the opportunity.
Mortar party at Waynes? I’ve had a mortar lit in my car and then dropped on the floor while doing 60, just tossed it out the window in time for it to blow up right in the window :lol
just as dumb as me trying to shoot a 1/4 stick out a patato gun… soaked in hair spray from shooting it a hundred times… lit the stick, dropped it in the barrel… click click, click, click, COME ONNNNNN, click Bang as it finally fired and launched the tatter and the bomb out… the 1/4 stick exploded about 1 second after it left the barrel! What a dumb fucking idea that was!
