What are they going on? I had a set of OBX headers with their catted y-pipe on my Tahoe and they actually fit quite well and went in very easy in my opinion. As far as I know, they are still doing just fine on it too.

I’m just nervous because it seems even the good companies have trouble with making a bolt on unit for my car S&S, IMF, PPE all in the $1000 range an all either throw cels or need major exhaust modification to fit. All say direct bolt on. IDK WTF car these people are test fitting on

OBX stuff is hit or miss fitment wise. Some stuff them make goes in like a glove, other fit after hours of struggle. For the price though it’s not bad either way. I know the SC400 bay is tight though.

Well obx doesnt do any r&d, its usually just a copy of a decent brand. So if the good brand fits like shit so is the bottom dollar copy stuff.
When I was at Synapse a chinese “performance shop” emailed and asked for a genesis manifold. If they liked what they received they would buy 10 more or something like that. It was clearly a manufacturer looking to copy it and sell for a third of the price. We were going to fabricate one that was totally off by a mile so it would come back to bite them, but we never did.
I have a full obx turbo back on my s70 and installed one on a s60 both required trimming to fit right and clear but works well for the price

A customer of mine brought a B6 A4 to me to “fix” the exhaust he put on. The stock stuff broke just befor a vacation and he needed something. Got a chineese downpipe and cat back. Had to bend the dp around a tree to get it to somewhat fit and the cat back was nowhere near fitting well. I ended up cutting alot of it apart and making my own stuff in the middle and cutting tube to realign the catback sections. Maybe GHL or someone played the same joke on them! LOL
