yeah but tokyo wasn’t our primary target neither in a nuclear raid or a traditional bombing run…our objective was surrender, imagine if they targeted tokyo with an atomic bomb, you’re story would change then because i’m pretty sure a good % of those 5milllion people would have died
you’re comparing a traditional bombing run in a city that wasn’t targeted by a nuclear bomb…if we went with a traditional bombing run in both those cities we nuked i’m pretty sure the future generations would not be lookign at deformations, lukemia, and still births.

i’m looking at high doses of radiation poisoning, i had to do a report on the after effects on the generations that followed, you’d be suprised what you’d learn about it…they pretty much did just give them the bomb and say here you go. the guys involved in the testing had no idea and a few of them died shortly after from being exposed to the very thing they were testing.

Yeah, but you’re missing my whole point. Tokyo WOULD HAVE been a primary target for a traditional bombing campaign. It would have had to be conquered for Japan to fall to the allied forces. How are US troops gonna occupy a city of 5 million people who have all been trained to kill you by whatever means necessary? This includes women and children. The would have had to bomb the ever-loving piss out of it. We showed them what it could do on once city, they didnt back down, we nuked another city, and they backed down. The death toll would have easily eclipsed 10 million, because the US would have eventually had to use nuclear weapons anyways, and they most likely would have used them on Tokyo.
250,000 deaths with some birth defects years later > 10 million (if not far more)
if you die from radiation poisoning how are you gonna be around to create a second generation? they would have been better off just leaving teh two cities a desolate wasteland and a memorial. atleast till teh radiation went down.

We lost a shitload of people in the Pacific, and those were just stupid inconsequential islands FAR from mainland Japan. both of the bombs we dropped killed less people that hitler did(everyone knows how many), stalin did (17million mostly kulaks ), lenin did(23 million), and much much less than SaTong did(72 million of his own people).
