i am not a huge fan of country music but this song pretty much says it all…everybody knows i am against bush, but the killing of our country men has gone too far we must now kill or be killed…
daryl warleys " have you forgotten"
I hear people saying we don’t need this war
I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn’t get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it’s too disturbing for you and me
It’ll just breed anger that’s what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it every day
Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I’d have to say that’s right
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I’ve been there with the soldiers
Who’ve gone away to war
And you can bet they remember
Just what they’re fighting for
CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don’t you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
one of the main reasons we “nuked” japan is because the weapon was just developed, i highly doubt we would have used it to “flex our muscles” if we realized at the time that it not only killed that many people initially but also the reprocussions of contamination that killed even more later on. think about it, we developed a HUGE weapon and wanted to use it, sure they “tested” it but they didnt’ test the after effect it would have.
i hate to compare it to a movie but remember in independance day just before they used the nuke “may our children forgive us” we’d be looking at complete economic/environmental destruction for the next 30 -50 years with the weapons we have now
I think even the crazy folks over in North Korea realize that a nuclear war would basically end the world as we know it. Actually using nukes is out of the question, tactical small nukes are fine to use, but dropping the “big one” just isn’t going to happen anytime soon. Unless we have a big war with China - we may need the big nukes on that one.
everyone so quick to jump on nuking them, yet there’s probably a group of kids/young adults over there saying “we should nuke the us” what’s the difference? we wouldnt’ use ours but they would.
it wasnt to flex muscles, it wasnt to test anything, it was to put a quick end to WWII without sacraficing any more American lives. As i said before, millions of Americans would have died trying to take Japan. Hundreds of thousands died trying to take back France, Poland, Russia, and Germany. Personally, I dont think that the US could have taken Japan. France, Poland and them all WANTED the US to free them from their tyrannous opressors. There is no way the US could have occupied Japan. Iraq has suicide bombers, Japan had Kamakazi’s. Same shit, different continent.
First of why are we in the war: I personally have not seen the information that the President and his staff was able to see… I’m sure they have all kinds of scary ass fucking shit that I don’t want to see…
I will say that I do think Bush and his staff are trying to do the right thing by sticking it out and trying to work it out instead of doing the easy thing and pulling out leaving all this people without any hope to having a better society.
Do I think that we’ll accomplish that? I have no idea, their culture is so different than ours that I don’t think anyone here can relate. What we gather is all hyped up, twisted, and made for media ratings.
Take everything with a grain of salt and just hope that things will work out in the end, but right now it’s pretty bleak.
It’s a proven fact that the people that made the decision had no idea what they were going to unleash on Japan. Remember you couldn’t watch that shit live on T.V. or anything. So they had no idea till the planes got back, developed the pictures, and then the data started flowing in.
I seriously doubt we would of dropped it on them had we know the level of destruction that it caused. We might of dropped one but the size would of been dramatically decreased.
you honestly thing that if we knew it was going to kill more people years later after the bombs went off that we would have still dropped that type of weapon with the only intent of “making it a quick war” i doubt it.
