Power source on a 94 blazer s10

i’m tired of listening to the stock speakers in the beater truck, so i want to pull my subs out of storage and put them in there. i started looking around for a good 12 volt power source and can’t really find a good one. the fuse block is under the dash and i don’t see anywhere i could tie in. i don’t really want to tap into any wires (ghetto rig). anybody have any insight?

It’s tough… There really aren’t any power sources except to try and discretely run a power wire up the side of the truck (under the litlte black door sills or whatever they are that are screwed into the floor of the truck) and then thru the firewall to the battery… Thats pretty much the only way to do it discretely…

I was in the same position with my 87 blazer… So, I relocated the battery to the back for more room and made for an easier power wire run to the battery… But unless you plan on doing that, the other way posted above is the only way that I know to do it (is how I did iton my 94 Bravada)

use the headlight dimmer switch or something stupid that has 12v when the ignition is on… as if ghetto rigging isn’t going to happen anyway.

a headlight dimmer switch would never carry enough power. this would be an 8 gauge wire.

do it right or don’t do it at all. this is power to an amp right? run it to the battery. run the power wires on one side of the truck and signal wires on the other.

Agreed. Blast through the firewall. Grommet is a must. And no going through the boot where the steering knuckle is located.

i thought you were looking for a remote… hit the battery … :blanyer:

you could cheat and use an existing grommet… poke push it through right next to the other wire/wires.
