So last night my steering started to make noise and tighten up at low speeds out of the blue, pulled over and checked for PS fluid and it was empty, drove 4 kms to my house and filled with atf, pump im assuming is still making noise ? do i need to bleed it or is the pump gone ? Thanks
You my have a leak. I am fixing one at the shop.
the pump may have been damaged.
if u already got fluid in the system and its up to level then youll have to change the pump if the noise still exists.
since ur gonna b changing the pump you will loose a lot of power steering fluid. so u may as well just drain it all and refill it with new fluid.
It most have a leak some where, check for leaks!!!
i had the same issue on my car. Apparently my blower cut a huge hol in my line and it was bleeding like a stuck pig. I would go throgh about half a bottle every week.
Found the leak, cut the pipe out, bent the other pipe out fhte way cut tubing (make sure its reinforced) placed in section i cut out with hose clamps. tada no more sounds and pump is still good.
wow those are some old dyno numbers i have in my sig
