x2… There are better avenues to handle ill business transactions then pittspeed
ahahahahahaha
I like the way you think.
im not really concerned about the “Best way to Handle this situation” i need information on this guy i figured you ppl are scattered around, and could possible provide information for me. i spoke to other shops that have done work for him and this seems to be his typical behavior, so if in the process another shop comes across him looking to have work, well then i hope they have seen this thread and require money up front or full payment before leaving.
Why is it okay for all Ya’ll to come up on here and post negative things about dealerships, and business details with other local facilities, but its not okay for a Shop to come out here and forewarn other shops of a certain customers behavior?
if you came to my shop and i didnt treat you curtiously, id expect to read about it here. ive read threads concerning a honda dealership screwing a customer, and a ford dealership trying to sell a car with a knock, and a car audio shop in monroville dicking a guy around for 3 weeks etc…
I guess its suitable for a customer to tell his story, but not suitable for a store to tell theres right?
The reason is because, by the looks of your first post in the thread, it looks like you are looking for information you can get on the guy in an attempt to get your money. This is not a “Beware” thread where you are saying to all the companies that do business on here to be on the looking for this guy that works at this certain place and drives this certain car. You didn’t say that in your first couple of posts.
You make it out like you are looking for information that someone that lives near where he works or from someone who possibly knows who he is on how you can get your money back. That is a completely different idea than putting up a thread warning all the other auto companies on here to watch out for this guy.
:stupid:
I don’t see what the problem is with this post? Chaz did work the guy and the guy didn’t pay—now he’s just asking anyone if they know him. If you don’t have any details or helpful thoughts on the matter just ignore the post.
If you need any help Chaz, I talk for a living; and I can pull some info on him if you get me a full name and address.
As a business it makes you look unprofessional. If a customer owes you money you handle it through an attorney. At no point did you tell a story of a person scamming you. You said they bailed out on a bill, how are any of us supposed to even know if that is the truth or not? IMO I would not handle the situation like that. But what do I know, I am not a small business owner.
Seriously, I don’t understand what people are complaining about. All he is asking is if someone knows him. He didn’t ask anyone to go beat the money out of him or anything. I saw it as a question as to if anyone knows him and a “beware” to any other shops that the guy is trouble when it comes to collecting payment.
Chaz, what kind of work did you do for him? Is it something that could be easily removed? Or was it something like tint that you can’t really recover your costs from?
He can recover losses from tint. brick + window + youtube= PRICELESS memories of watching the windows break
Sorry to hear chaz, I’m alot bigger then you next time I head to your shop (if this isn’t cleared up) I’ll swing by the dealership and get vin’s etc.
But being I run a business and did this before, involve the cops, its alot less hassle plus if he comes after your business there is evidence as to why he might have done it.
Yeah, I would say just call the police or the local government and see what your next step should be. You don’t want to put yourself on the line personally (physically, financially, or legally) by trying to get the money back yourself. You also don’t want to report this to a credit collection company because it is not very likely that you will get a large portion of the claim (however it would affect the prick’s credit so atleast you get him back some). If you don’t mind me asking, how much did he dodge you for?
no offense Chaz, but if you let anyone walk without paying in full you run the chance of not getting paid. I wouldn’t let anyone walk without paying, unless I was okay without never receiving the money.
On the other side, He’s not asking for a collection action, just a little help if anyone knows something more than he does about the kid… And he did start by saying he didn’t want to give out too many details about the transaction…
Now there’s a service I didn’t know anyone on this board offered.
Hopefully better than you type. :kekegay:
But seriously, just take it to the magistrate if you have evidence of the debt still owed. If no evidence, either have someone “talk” to him about the money owed or just chalk it up as a loss and a lesson for future transactions.
well the information i was requesting was to take this to the next step, Contacting the magistrates office. i was asking for information on the guy here in hopes of not have to acquire that information on my own, like i briefly described in my 1st post, I had no information on the customer, i had his fake 1st name when he dropped off the car, i intended to get the rest of the information along with the payment when he came to pick up his car, BUT, at the completion of the installation i had injured myself and had to seek medical attention, this required me having to leave the shop and have my helper take the car back, the helper was a co-worker of the customers prior to the install, so i figured hed return the car, get the money, and done deal,
Turned out he gave a story to the helper about not having the cash and needing to run to the atm, which he still hasn’t returned from…
Needless to say the ball is now in motion, i have the information i was in need of, and the address in which to send my letters of intent.
Im sorry if some of you feel this was unprofessional, but at the moment it was my only course of action, i could not exactly call an attorney and tell him the tiny bit of info i had, and expect he would turn up a line up for me to pick thru. I turned to this community in hopes that somebody knew something.
And Guess What? somebody did, i received 2 calls, both from ppl more than capable of obtaining the necessary info
Last time i poked a thread out there like this i received a check in the mail 3 days later accompanied by an apology, after 7 MONTHS OF ATTEMPTING TO GET PAID.
PITTspeed = Results, PERIOD
sounds like a new slogan, sorry to hear about your mishap chaz. Hope it all gets worked out.
good luck chaz
yeah cause that’s professional. especially the part of videotaping it and posting your vandalism on the internet.
it was a joke dude, sheesh some of you people learn to laugh
Contact the police. My mom (ex Richland PD Secretary) claims “Theft of Services.”
Thread backfire
