the cx is just as light as the crx, not to mention it is alot easier to work on, and parts are easier to get
just follow KISS with the crx
keep it simple stupid

Think you’re right! Few good points there… thanks
yeah keep the rex simple and stock with the stupid clean engine build you are doing on it.
Dump all your cash and parts into the shrek and DD the rex.
Both cars are very cool, and I enjoy reading you DIY threads
2 modded hondas = huge money pit.
I’d just keep Shrek boosted, and throw a nice NA setup w/ some suspension and brakes on the rex and use it as a track/circuit/autox car.
I’m just not a fan of the EF chassis. EG/DC 4 Life
Thanks guys… that’s what I’ll do!
:tspry: spray it!!! lol
look at 97b18’s CRX that he is selling, everything had to be custom and he also has half of a front bumper because of how big the intercooler is lol. nothing will be a direct swap, keep shrek the boosted car and the crx just a stock b16!
I’m pushing my budget… Still need:
Axles
Starter
Test pipe 2.5" 2bolt to 3" 3bolt
Misc. wiring
Radiator hose / other misc. hose
Fuel line to filter (might go stock)
what else?
Oil/ filter - plus I will have to do two or more changes due to this being a fresh rebuild
Tranny fluid
Clutch disc (cable tranny is different then Hydro)
Freeze plug
Knock senor
Fuel pump
Sell those extra injectors, resistor box, and that SKS, that will help pay for, it can be work but ebay can up your cash flow pretty quick
i have a couple starters for sale
I have a bunch I could sell just need to get it up for sale!
I have one but it needs a rebuild… What would be cheaper …PM me!
I have always had that idea. RWD EG with s2k powerplant. I don’t think that building a rear subframe is realistic for me to do though. I wouldn’t be able to trust the engineering.
Sell Shrek and do it!!!
NO
that guy is hand making everything, he makes his own mani’s, downpipes everything. he has his own machine shop
1994 Honda Civic CX HB MT 2108
1988 Honda CRX HF MT 1819
well your comparing the lightest oldest crx to the newer cx
crx si weighs in about the exact same weight as the cx hatch
a 1992 cx weighs less than a 94-95 fyi
yeah but hes comparing the cars he has lol
that swap is pretty cool. i dont know about it being easier than an AWD swap though like the dude claims though.
Brian
Truth… My point was the CRX I have is lighter then the CX I have. But Im going to keep building the CX anyways.
Hopefully I will have some updates this weekend.
