Project: Duramax Conversion

he’s going to enter/exit the new side door I’m assuming. Setup looks beautiful… you guys at the shop tomorrow?

Yeah frame height was up around 14 inches from the ground so the notch needed to be big to lay the frame. The side doors are now that one big suicide door, and the ramp will be from that rocker. We will be at the shop tomorrow night stop by. I just finished the drivers side and played around with temporary air tonight. The travel out of the cantilever is unreal.

that shit is nice!

Looks sick guys… Chris I promise I’m coming out soon to check out the place.

Makes sense that way now. I was used to seeing him enter thru the rear of the van

Like my brother said, going in the side. We are cutting the floor and ramping it to the rocker just right of the driveshaft (facing the back), then ramping the floor at the drivers side down a few inches to get Chris some more head room back. There will be about a 4X5’ section of the floor stock besides the passenger side seat area. Also at the side door rocker we will make a simple fold up/down ramp to get the chair over the rocker, that will be hinged off a linear actuator too, along with the big ass side door.

do you think this will hinder the trucks towing abilities? j/w as i have no idea

thats the van that smoked my car…looking good to

Nope!

What car was that?!?! Not the mustang at the light we blew by WITH the ranger on the car trailer? :rofl

And no Pete, it wont hurt the towing. We built it around making it a hauler. All the fab work is overkill; notch, tubing, square stock, 4 links, etc are 1/4 wall! Also the bags are 2800’s, so they are rated to support 5600lb out back, no way will the tongue weight and half the trucks weight be more than that. At some point we want to build a bad ass trailer on air ride so when we pull up to shows, all three lay out, van, trailer, and truck on trailer! :ahh

Because it won’t let me embed you have to click the link… But… Here’s a video of the van air’d almost all the way up and down until it sits on the drive shaft. Once we notch out and loop the rail, the bumper will sit right on the ground!

Awesome!

it’s driver is what hinders it’s towing abilities.
