Hey showtime don’t just quit out like that man. Almost all the noobs went through it. Stick around things only get better just don’t talk crap about others and don’t talk about your car like it is the ultimate 240 of the 240’s (one thing you have to realize, I don’t care who you are or what car you have, there will always be someone who did it better and is faster). nw man dont give up, I think everyones getting really up in arms since the 240 has turned into the new civic.
People who have been into this car a long time are starting to get fed up with guys coming in saying there going to have the best car on here, THen asking how to do it cheeply, and most likely not safely, people here are trying to tell you the proper way to do it, not dont, We dont want another cheaply built, unsafe car having us look bad in the eyes of the law and our insurance.
Your not Going to build a fantastic car for $8000 Think this, base Sr $5000, Coils $1000 Brakes, $1000, Extras $1000, there thats 8 grand and you have nothing special, so dont get all worked up if people take offence that your going to make a super origional for $8000 and its already a rusty chassis.

That car has quite a bit of rust. And by the looks of the areas that are patched in the trunk floor, the frame rails back there are for sure rotting.
8k is hardly enough money to complete the engine, exhaust, IC piping, floor patch work etc etc you probably have planned. You still need to do brakes and suspension.
We all learn the hard way about rusted 240’s. Just ask Sasha and Matty, the have gone through it before. You start with solid chassis, work on suspension, brakes and wheels/tires. When you have that all figured out then you look into messing around with your engine plans.

$1000 intercooler with piping/clamps/couplers
$3000 suspension (coils, brakes, swaybars, strut bars, bushings)
$1000 misc (gauges, shifter, fittings, lines, fluids)
$500 clutch
$300-$1000 electronics (safc, etc. )
I think it’s possible to have a fairly potent stock T25 system for about
$8K to $9K :dunno:

everyone on here is just trying to weed out the posers, a lot of these guys have had 240’s since back before anyone knew what they were. Back when people thought they were available in FWD V6 trim lol…
With a mint mint florida car you could do a bone stock SR with a side mount I.C. and coilovers for 8000, sure… but you’ll be spending a couple grand on fixing your rotten chasis… peace out coilovers, hellow matrix lowering springs and used KYB shocks… that is by no means going to turn heads.

I dont think i ever did say i was going to do it half ass, nor did i say i was going to have the best car, nor anything about my prices for things. its funny how everyone just assumes…shows how ignorant people are.
I have nothing to prove to anyone on this forum. i was jus simply trying to be a good guy and just list my step to step procedures on this project cause id know for a fact some people could look at this to learn or teach me something.

So what if the guy wants to spend his $8k to have his project car done, commend the guy for considering a 240sx to build rather then something else, and what a damn fine job he’s done so far! Son240sx truly isn’t a team anymore. I can now truly see why A LOT of people hate SON240sx and have no respect for us. Who really hates son tho? I’m sure there are various individuals that hate us because they didn’t survive the initial hazing until we actually knew them.
Everyone was a noob once, everyone was hazed for asking questions or making comments other people deemed as stupid or noobish.
I remember quite a few people who were noobs, got flamed to hell, stuck with it, ignored the flaming and are now ‘regulars’.

It will be done, but 1st I think there are some issues that various members or showtime would like to clear up. People don’t like it when their arguments get removed, especially when its about the way the club is run or its members act. (Think its some big conspiricy with totalitarianism or something)
