why not? It’s a well known fact that as speed limits increase, car wrecks and fatalities, don’t.

Plus, imagine all the revenue generated from out-of-towners who see “Speed Lane” and just go for it, without any prior knowledge to how the system works. BRILLIANT.
I like it. While I’ve never been, nor do I know much to back this up…but hasn’t the Autobahn proved to be quite safe and successful? Perhaps with proper driver training/understanding this could work as well.
Side note, this guys has some pretty interesting ideas to bring to the state should he get elected (to those who didn’t read the article).
Yeah Autobahn is another beast, our Driver Licensing system is a joke here…it can take years in Germany to get a DL. People in the States are TERRIBLE drivers.
I want to know how it works for speeding ticket though…like if I get pulled over doing 105…is it still only a 15MPH over ticket?
True…but there’s no doubt plenty of stretches out West where sustaining 90mph aint no thang. Many years back when I was taking yearly trips out to Montana I got to experience the no-limit daytime speedlimit. Obv. in certain areas they regulated speed, but on the open stretches it was beautiful.
speaking of bad drivers…i heard this lady took almost 700 road tests to pass…starting at age of 16 shes now like in her fucking 60’s lol i love NYS we pass everytime
Since I’m usually going 80 in the left lane anyways I don’t feel like it would be worth to pay to do 90. Especially when most states are 70 and you do 80-85 to keep up with traffic.
You would need to have a pretty sporty car. Every time I drive out in the Nevada desert, I think the posted speed is 70mph. People are doing 85-90 non stop.
Even with a new economy/midrange sedan, you don’t feel super safe driving it anything over 90mph anyways.
Most of the roads where I was (near Carson City/Reno) were 70/75 anyhow. The roads I drove on to get to work and to go up to Reno could easily and safely got 90mph all day long. Most of the roads are very nice and could handle the speed. However some of the cars were scary because of no inspection outside of the big cities…
there has got to be a judgment call made by the driver as well. I would confidently maintain well over 100mph in my SHO. not so much in my audi wagon and my saturn was squirmy at 110 on the limiter so a big gust of wind would really keep you paying attention in that. It really depends on the car.
