I don’t think its hate of the PS3, its hate of Sony. Sony, in general, is arrogant. I’ve personally been sick of their cocky attitude for quite sometime (shortly after the launch of the PS2). They had a huge opportunity with the PS3 and they blew it, big time. Its a great system, but it could have been much more for the MSRP.
I’m not even sure what that is supposed to mean.
hey dont forget mini disk. sony has a way of hyping and developing expensive crap that will never take off. screw em. i work at toys r us and got rid of my gamecube last year and have been doin a lotta research on 360 vs ps3. it actually costs sonys dumb ass more to make those expensive ass ps3s than the ridiculous price they already msrp for. so technically they lose money on every system they sell and hope to make it up with the profit from the games.
I never said it was exclusive to PS3. I just said that would be a game that people might buy the PS3 for (graphics and all)
If Sony had a decent number of units available during its release they would be doing fine right now. But too many parents bought the nintendo instead of the PS3 due to lack of supply and cost.
Normally I would say that the Wii and PS3 aren’t competitors because they seemingly have different types of buyers. But since so many people are now hooked on Nintendo, they have stolen the thunder right out of the PS3.
I’m mean honestly for an extra $50 you can get a Wii and Xbox360 instead of the overpriced PS3.
lol $600 is a steal for what you get when it comes to the PS3 and the 360 is even more amazing at $299 or $399.
Why do I say that? Because people in the world of PC gaming people upgrade every few months just to hold up a decent framerate its never just a video card either…more ram ,faster processor and sometimes even a complete overhaul.Battlefield 2 ended up costing gamers alot of cash when it was released.
No. STUPID PEOPLE upgrade every few months. If you have half a brain you can build a computer that can play anything for at least 5 years. Hell I went 8 years without a PC(desktop) uprade, and I had no problems playing any games I wanted until about summer '06.
There are close to a million blu-ray drives in homes. there are close to 200,000 HD-DVD drives in homes…
gee, I wonder who’s going to win the format war…
Like I said before…wait until the PS3 has had a year to develop and then come talk shit
Source?
I’d agree… most people with a 2-3 year old rig, with a decent vid card, can play most anything pretty maxed without any problems
Pretty much any sales statistic for the PS3 at this point which shows it at over 1 million units.
Listen here fanboy. It’s quite different when the PS3 includes the overpriced blu-ray player. If the 360 included hd-dvd it would be winning. That stat alone has absolutly no weight behind it at all. Of course there will be more out there when it’s included in a system at lauch that is guaranteed to sell out at first (which by the way they are having a terrible time selling now.) You can find a PS3 in many stores… yet no Wii in site. Boo SONY!
You’ve shown your ignorance of how business works.
Now let me enlighten you.
Having a larger installed base of blu-ray players carries lots of weight. People buy a PS3 for gaming then they start hearing about blu-ray discs as the next evolution of DVD but in Hi Def. They say, “hey I have a player, I’ll start buying some BR movies so I can see them in hi-def.” That increases the sales of blu-ray discs which is then used by Sony to show movies studios that they are outselling HD-DVD and the movie studio gets on board with blu-ray and not HD-DVD.
That is the theory behind what Sony is doing. Its risky, but if it works, they cash in big time. That is why they are selling the PS3 at a supposed loss right now.
And you can sit there and say “If Xbox 360 sold w/ HD-DVD…” but the fact is that they didn’t. I really don’t care which format of HD disc wins out. I would prefer that it was blu-ray as it will ensure the success of PS3, but I will just as easily pick up the HD-DVD player for 360 should that become the dominant format.
I really don’t think PS3 and the Xbox360 are comparable to the Wii.
PS3 does include a Blue-Ray player for every device. I have a 360 and do not have a HD-DVD drive. If I bought a PS3 now, I wouldn’t buy a HD-DVD player. Pricing out both devices, they are the same thing.
XBox360 Premium - 399
Wireless LAN adaptor $100 (I bought one)
High definition media player (HD-DVD) - 200 (considering to buy one)
Roughly $600
Price of PS3 with Built in 802.11AG, Blu-Ray player, and HDD - $599
However, so far, PS3 doesn’t require me to pay $60 (?) for the 1 year Gold and thereafter, and has a larger Drive. I have been easily running out of room on the HDD with FFXI and downloading at least 1 HD movie
Overall, if the system value in a PS3 outweighs a XBox360. However, the actual content in media and games really will sell a system. . . so far PS3 is lagging.
^^^Yeah, M$ really shit the bed on the 20gig HDD part.
True, but its been out only 2 months. Xbox 360’s initial line up was no better. I didn’t buy one until Gears of War came out because I didn’t have enough interest in anything else. It would be interesting to see how many 360’s were sold as a result of the GOW.
Is there any way to use an external drive?
I know the PS3 will accept any USB external hard drive.
