Car is a 95 oldsmobile achieva with a quad 4 owned by a coworker. Car wouldn’t stop one day after work. Fuel pump is kicking on, car turning over just fine. Pulled the ICM and a plug and grounded it against the engine. No spark. Some research online is telling me that if the crank sensor is bad, it wont spark and the tach wont move. So does that mean if the crank sensor is good, we should see the tach moving while cranking? Then if the crank sensor is bad, no tach movement. Or would a bad ICM but good crank sensor also allow us to see the tach move while cranking?
if the tach isn’t bouncing the crank sensor is dead
