Question about ign advance. 1 and 4 @ 8* and 2 and 3 @ 4*, WTF

I was looking at my buddies gsxr 1000 and in the book and on the label on the frame rail it says the stock ignition advance is 8 degrees btdc for cylinders 1 and 4 and 4 degrees for cylinders 2 and 3. wtf. what is the reasoning for this. how can the ecu keep up with this. never heard of this on anything stock. I know in cars with standalone systems you can sometimes control individual fuel and ign trims but why would the do this stock. does the outer cylinders run cooler or something so they get more advance? hmmmm.
