Question about sr install

Is it possible for a “back yard mechanic” to install a sr if he has never done it before, or should I just take it to someone who has done it before? Is it really hard? Thanks

It depends on how much mechanical/engine know-how you have. There are many write-ups on the net of the process plus theres even an Install DVD for sale on Ebay. I’m not too sure what exactly a “back yard mechanic” is, but if you decide to do it yourself and get stuck, theres a number of people here that have done the install themselves and probably won’t mind giving you some help.

Thanks

The hardest part of doin the swap is getting your hands on a chery picker (engine hoist) other than that its pretty much drop in.

Another hard point is trouble shooting when it doesnt start.

I read that,I was just wondering how hard it is,because I’m going to attempt it next week.

Go to Stephenson’s rental and rent a hoist for the weekend. It doesn’t cost much and you wont need it for too long. The tricky part may be the wiring, but you can get help on here.
