question about swapped cars and inspection/emissions

ya i was thinking the same thing…

although if your not completely competent in your self and your car knowledge, you may want to avoid a swapped car they can be nightmares.

I have a 94 Jetta with a 98 Passat drive-train.

LOL i’m just giving him the “proper” way/info use it for what its worth. Personally i couldnt care less, to the OP take the car to valvoline on broadway and dick an see UBengering he’ll pass you (you might have to bring him a sub). and btw i love quick lubes, esp. the one on delaware that was selling waivers for $50.00 a pop. He was a smart one. that might have been a jiffy(south of sheridan)

anyways, seems like it should be fine from what you guys are sayin. and i know for a fact there are a bunch of cars in wny on the road that have swaps, or the emissions and cat removed.

im just makin sure, i dont want to buy it and sit it in my driveway instead of :burnout: bucause it didnt pass.

rb20 can make as much as or more power than sr20’s and they are usually cheaper. (and sound better haha) i dont see why you dont like rb20’s. yea, parts are harder to find, but they arent bad engines

My sr swapped 240 has had no issues passing the last 5 or so years I’ve had it.

rb20’s are cheaper because they are older, usually beat to f**k and because they are a needlessly complicated swap. they CAN make more than SR’s but pretty much never do.

yea man thats me, im really more strict for safety inspections, anythign 96+ is another story… but not a problem either… if/when you get the car bring it over ill inspect it, were probably still doing the free inspections too… if not theres coupons for them from us around…

i dont care if the swap is complicated, im not the one doin it, its already done. granted, rb25 would be more worth the headaches you speak of but the car is a good deal. and you cant say sr’s dont get beat on they are just as bad. the only thing they got goin for em is that some are a bit newer.
