Question for the diesel owners on here

So could any of you explain about the injector warranty that Im hearing about on diesel place? Sounds like gm has a warranty for the injectors on the LB7s. Am I understanding that right?

I hate those wheels! Damn valve stems suck dick.

Going to put a Cummings M11 in my truck just because we stock the parts at work :thumbup

Freak, what kind of work do you do if you dont mind me asking?

I don’t think it’s so much the injectors that go, but the pumps are more common.

operator for W.M. Shultz construction

I don’t think he has one at the moment. OR his jobs like mine and you get paid to do nothing.

seasonal work FTMFL!

ah… yeah must suck this time of year man. Gotta love that good ole unenjoyment…

its nice and sucks at the same time. spring summer and fall we work 6 days a week 65+hrs a week plus drive time! so the winter is like a big vaca!

My GF jobs the same way, just unemployment doesn’t consider the driving time into her income. So she gets less in the winter, it’s kinda gay like that.

yeah good point… Im hoping I wont get laid off for a while, since im just an apprentice.

Sounds like nothing but problems with the American diesels.

If I’d be getting a truck it would be an 06 dmax…

No problems with my tdi mechanically. Best diesels are from the German camp.

only problem is they dont make a pickup truck

It’s a shame because they would crush the market.

Closest thing to a truck they make is the v10 tdi touareg.

all hearsay! you can claim all you want but until they make a truck chassis ill say its all bs i dont think they would be able to compete. toyota is the only closest competitor and they took yrs!!!

i don’t know what a diesel is, so i do not have any comments.

Just realize that a 3/4 ton truck is alot more expensive to maintain and get serviced than a 1/2 ton truck when shit wears out.
Everything is heavy duty and prices reflect that, even simple things like brakes.

My brother has a 2005 Ram 2500 and the truck runs excellent and takes alot of abuse. He’s got over 85k on it now and has never had an issue with the motor or tranny.
However he’s had every steering part replaced already, along with all the balljoints.

He’s got a Bullydog tuner for the truck and its awesome with it installed.

His truck gets around 24 mpg. Even when towing the mpg barely drops. It got over 20 mpg towing a car on a trailer to Rhode Island over the summer.

Diesel trucks are awesome but really unless you need a big heavy duty truck theres not a real point in getting one. I would think that at some point the extra maintenance/repair costs and the cost of the truck itself would about even out with the fuel savings compared to a gas motored 1/2 ton.

A 1/2 ton truck will tow a car or boat just fine. Ive towed my car on a trailer with my truck and didnt really notice it back there.

Diesel 3/4 ton= Baller status

Thats a valid point. Its not really the fact that Im gonna work it hard, but the point that if I put 30k a year on it, in 3 years thats 90k. So if I buy a used half ton with 40k on it, in 3 years it will prob have 130k or better on it, then its at the point of how much longer will it last before it needs work, then I would still be paying on it for another couple years… Thats why Im trying to figure out if a diesel would be better for what i need.

fixed for ya
