Quick verizon question.

OK Real quick question for anyone who may work for verizon or anyone who just knows in general. I (my parents) have a SUPER old verizon contract (loyalty plan) and i was told I cant upgrade to most of the new phones they offer unless they upgrade my plan. Also I cant get apply my $100 credit towards an new phone unless I upgrade. So the cheapest plan the offer now a days is more minuets for more money, and we dont use the minutes we pay less for now, and i really dont want to pay for an upgrade just to get a new phone. Is there any way i can get a new phone and apply my earned credit with out touching the plan ??? Thanks

-Ian

most of the newer phones require the newer price plans due to data

edit: so, no.

Gay. Thanks though.

you cant buy a used phone and call them and say you bought a phone from a friend?

EDIT: that was a question i was asking, not a statement. Also i hear Verizon was getting Sim cards… any news on this which could help OP?

the point is, some of the newer phones are incompatible with the older plans due to how they use data

Yeah. If they got sim cards that would be great, but for the moment it doesn’t really help.

VZW uses SIM cards currently for their global devices.

You can buy a new/used phone from a friend/other source and put it on your account, however, you will be subject to the same thing. Make sure the phone is compatible with your plan.

HaHa thanks. The only phones compatible with my current plan are shitty ones like my current phone
