Sad to see a great driver pass
Been watching the race. The crash was terrifying. This a tremendous loss for the sport.

My dad told me about this and I was like IndyCar wrecks always look worse then they are. Saw this scroll under the dallas game and went on to espn and that was a mess. RIP sad to see talent lost like that. Nothing he could do at that speed to avoid it.

Those cars dont look safe at all.
Far too many open wheel cars (of that performance level) on that track. RIP.
Pound for pound, speed for speed, or any other way you want to look at it…safer than anything you drive on the street. obviously doesn’t mean shit can’t happen, as in this case.
and dont forget all the experience those guys have, these races are probably safer than doing 20 in a residential neighborhood.
They seem about as safe and protective as a motorcycle.

probably true, but you cant discount the availability of rescue units, multiple saftey restraints and other shit
but youre going 200 mph in a roofless car that probably weighs 1500 pounds, maybe less and in the video is going thru the air like a flaming missile
