powder coating is tough as nails it will handle alot of heat. i wouldnt chrome the intake though if you bash it while putting it back on it might flake off. powder coat IMO is better.
A buddy of mine powder coated his valve cover to match his exterior paint in his 86 Supra a couple of years ago… I think I’m gonna go with that idea
Alright it’s finally here! Hopefully it will be on the road by next weekend, I’m keeping my fingers crossed. It was soo dirty when he dropped it off, it took me a few hours to clean and it’s still a little grungy, but at least the pics came out nice:
nice car …love the blue …want wait till my blue skyline comes in …
The car is awsome. I was also suprised how comfy the seats were. Dave im gonna steal it!!!

Sweeet! This is the year Godzilla invades Edmonton!
oh no …not with the godzilla stuff again …
Haha actually it got the Godzilla nickname from the Australians, not the Japanese.
Typhoon, when’s your car supposed to be here, what did ya buy?
Where’s the exhaust?
Blahh it’s the crappy looking stock exhaust. You can see it in the pics where it’s on the flatbed. It looks really goofy but actually sounds really nice!
This winter I want to get a full exhaust, probably HKS or Borla or something, I’ll ahve to do some homework on that. Right now I’m busy getting all the maintenance stuff together and getting it on the road, then I’ll think about playint with it
The 3" 5zigen catback sounds really good. I added a resonator though and it sounds awsome now.
I ordered some toys today; Apexi GT Spec Muffler, GT Down Pipe, and Power Intake. I also have some OEM gaskets and stuff coming for the regular maintenance.
I went to Canadian Tire for oil and a filter, I bought a Fram PH3682 filter, CT part # 17-1883-4. I believe it’s for the Infinity J30, it’s the biggest filter you can buy for an Infinity in the book. It fit my car perfectly
I also got some Castrol synthetic 10W30, the car swallowed about 5.1 liters of that.
We changed a bunch of fluids too, cluthch & brake fluid, tranny oil, rear diff, coolant, engine oil.
Holy crap does this car pull hard, I wasn’t even pushing her hard, probably about 2/3. I can’t wait to get regular insurance and drive it around some more.
you’ll find it pulls pretty good in fifth gear, on stock boost also. it is a very amazing motor.
You turbo bastards - always rubbing it in my car’s face! :E
j/k, can’t wait to see the car again.
Dave you bastard!!! Your suppose to take me for a rip. Also did you talk to Cam yet about getting your car tuned.
Meh… you were supposed to assume I was going to bring out the beast yesterday
I haven’t talked to Cam yet, I’m still trying to get some parts so I can get the out of province inspection done. If only the insurance company and registry wasn’t full of retards
Well I got my ball joints today! I have an appointment at the shop tomorrow, then insure and register and it’s good to go! It’s about time.
