There’s ways to get around it if it’s for a show or race car, but good fucking luck. I’ve heard of companies getting turned down and having their $50,000+ R34s crushed by the gub’ment.
forgot about the no “as is” sale from a dealer
In 2014 you will be able to legally register the early r32’s because they will be 25 years old
They may be able to whole sale the car but even that may be sketchy
VERY true. Good luck finding them by then, they’ll either all by rusted hulks, destroyed by the US DOT, or big $$$
could “auction” it off b/c those sales aren “as is” least then someone could buy it and figure out a way 2 regy it
I bought a POS truck from a small dealer and I ended up getting it inspected and calling him to give him the sticker number.
No way the truck wouldve passed a real inspection but I was able to get a sticker on it.
I also didnt register it right away so it was a title only sale.
Yea dealers by law have to sell the car inspected and able to be registered
good luck, that car was seized by the feds and was auctioned at northway for export only.
Just curious, how did that dealer down there get away will selling deadbeatXXXs old Yellow Evo? Doubting that thing passed the plug in and/or visual inspections…?
some things are on a who you know basis, especially a visual inspection. Theres also ways to get past the plug in too.
Not exactly legal but you get a sticker.
Because Denooyer had it and his car passed the plug in and Im sure some body just pushed it along
Yea except you wont have a registration to inspect the car with because there is no title for the car
you dont need a registration for an inspection, just a vin #. There should be a title to this car regardless of if youre able to register it or not though.
Inspection comes before registration, I clean 5+ inspected but not registered cars a day :lol
^^ This. The VIN is already red flagged via DOT/EPA. It’s only chance of staying in the states is to have a DOT inspector come and cutout/destroy all the VIN identification plates, stampings, and stickers and classify it as a race only car. that’s not an easy thing to have them come and do.
The whole kit car rendition thing is not what people think. there’s alot more to it than just disassembling/re-assembling the car and classifying it as a kit car. That business doing that work was shut down real fast. Requires MCO certification and alot more work than that. I was going to do this procedure for Cossey’s R34 if it ever came down to it…
too bad, it’s a nice car
when I bought my last car in 5/05 it had an inspection sticker from 9/04 on it and they reinspected it when I bought it
Listen to Jellies. He will get this thing on the road no problem, AND with 4 perfectly matched tires.
so how did this car get 108k on it anyway? Driving on a dealer plate?
.05" or less difference. none of that huge .1" shit.
