R32 Skyline winter build-up

Looks like i’ll be up at Hybrid on Saturday, Don’s promised to have the new engine all built and in the car, ready and waiting by then- tee hee.
Ah it’s good to be making some progress on this thing finally, I might even have the tires on the new rims, if my buddy comes through in time.
Gotta love bartering parts, we should all go back to that plan, money’s always been a pain- IMO.

haha.

I’ll probably be there as well.

I look forward to meeting you FINALLY, although my wife just noticed the note I’d left myself about the trip up north and threw a fit - apparently I’m supposed to be picking up furniture that day- we English have a saying -‘how does bollocks sound’, it would take much too long to translate that simple concept into US speak, but I’m sure you get the general idea…

How am I going to put the engine in with no transfer case on the transmission…I don’t think so…I never mentioned that.

Details you see the world’s full of details- tee hee.
See you soon man, we’ll have some fun with this, although if I were you’d I’d sanitize that intake before you touch it- LOL

Next saga we have to get the transfer case down to Oz’ for it’s refit, man this thing’s going to hook with all this in the driveline, I was somewhat horrified to learn that the new Quaife Torsen unit for the front is actually a heavily modified scoobie Impreza part- but hey if it work who gives a #$%*.
Next I have to get the old rims powder coated black and put the drag radials on.
Damned car doesn’t have a cup holder though- that’s something else that I need to fix, can’t go far without a cuppa…

Now where’s Tom hiding I wonder, cor the folks need to see pics of that there new intake and throttle body.

pics before or after seimen? :stuck_out_tongue:

haha, andy, you can design lighting equipment but you can’t post your own pics? i’m disappointed.

I’d stick it in.

your intake looks hot as hell. beautiful welds. that’s crazy where they came from.

they come from the land down …
I tried that supermotors site, did what it said and the URL still didn’t work, being old fashioned I like technology to work for me, not the other way around- LOL.
Looks like the weather is seriously grim up north and Don says to ship the parts, he may have a point…
We shall have to see what the weather forecast says:roll2:

hey tweety! long time no post. any updates?

and also, can you answer this question for me?

a friend of mine is swapping his K series motor/trans/diff from his '95 240SX and he wants to know if the R33 Gts-s diff. he got will fit in his stock rear cradle with little to no modification?
(i.e, he wants to know if he can leave his stock cradle in and just swap out the diff/ axles from his Gts-s donor?)

jesus christ… that throttle body is huge…small children and animals should watch out when you come down the street

Morning boys sorry for the lack of updates I’ve been busy with some other stuff and there’s not been much to report- however by tomorrow Don at Hybrid will receive 5 big boxes via the UPS truck and the new rims, intake TB, the HKS torque splitter, and a 3 qt Accusump system will be at his shop.
We have to modify the oil pan and do some oiling mods to the head, it seems RB26s suffer from the same problem that my old Indy head big block mopar had- i.e. at high rpms all the oil ends up in the heads and there’s none in the pan. We’ll soon fix that though, it’s already got that crazy JUN oil pump , next is drainback line from the head to the pan, the Accusmp will live in the trunk and there are a couple of restrictor plugs to fit also. The pan needs a side tank welded to it and some baffles fitting inside. But nothing too complex eh Don…
Next decision is whether or not to junk the whole stock fuel system, I have a bunch of JAZ fuel cells sitting here , ranging from 1 gallon to 16 gallon capacity, I own half the world’s supply of Aeroquip lines and fittings and a brand new Aeromotive A1000 pump, it might be worth upgrading now while the car is apart- we shall have to see.
The new tires arrived up there already- 265/35/18 Yokohama Neova AD07’s these are going on the gravity rims, the old rims are getting powder coated black and I’m putting the drag radials on those.
I just have to get the transfer case to Oz’ land now for a rebuild by Race Pace and the new gearset for the tranny and we’re set !

As for the GTS diff fitting the 240sx, the one I have here is just a bolt in deal, you don’t need to change anything, although the 4.56 ratio might be fun on the street- how much tire smoke!!!
Better get back to working on the house, I’ll check in later.

bored with the house stuff, the question is how much fuel system do I need for this little thing, it’s only 2.5 litres after all???
And do I really want a 16 gallon plastic fuel cell in the trunk , with all the hassles that brings with it???
Ah decisions decisions

At something like 500-600hp, an in-tank setup should be fine. Might want to see if there are issues with fuel sloshing away from the pickup under heavy acceleration though.

is that at the crank or at the wheels?
