hey my friend let me borrow his rims ( srs ae86 the gold ones with the chrome lip) and it has racing rubbers on them and they almost look like slicks… i was wondering what is the fine if i get caught with them!!

I got pulled over for this, not really, last week.
I believe rolling with wear bars in contact with the road can get you an unfit = impoundment (what I was told). Fine = $110(?) unsure he let me off.
I actually got pulled over for using zip-ties to secure my license plate, but when he realized he couldn’t bust a car theif that day he tried to find something else he could bust me for. Got off with a warning cause it was a really nice day.
I personally thought the min. tire depth was 3/32", but apperently its a wear bar. anyone correct me.
