radar jamming is.
laser jamming is not necessarily illegal, as it doesnt actually jam the laser, it just bounces it away towards the ground/towards the sky instead of back to the gun.
its not jamming, its shifting…lol. they also have a new 9500ci but i don’t see the point of getting it over the srx cause they use the same “shifters” as far as i can tell.

I hate to dig up an old thread but, Im on my third Escort 8500 X50 and it performs well… when it works! :headbang My first one is still hangin in their in Nicks S4 but my last 2 have both failed on me within days. I was wondering if there was a detector that anyone would recomend for a similar price. I just read pages of reviews on how unreliable Escorts are and I am very aggrivated having the same experience :angry2 I am definately looking for my money back! :shifty
i’ve had my beltronics pro rx65 for like 3+ years now. only 1 ticket from laser, and honestly, i couldn’t have avoided it. i was going too fast to slow down in time.
works flawlessly though. :nod
i had the original 8500 (not X50) and worked great for about a year until a wire within the wire disconnected itself. i just sold it to dave though who has it hardwired in his cobra so that worked out well, though.
my V1 is for sale i think. i dont care anymore. i just drive slow now
I had to send out my X50 once, but I think that was due to it falling off the windshield too often. I might be looking to get the SRX come next summer. I have to avoid laser somehow. ;D
Are their any comparisons between this and other manufacturers? I was actually looking at that model. It seems that radar detection technology is at a stand still. The new Escort 9500i has the same electronics as the 8500 x50 but with GPS and slightly different software.
I drive slow everywhere but lately it seems that when I want to play there is always someone waiting around the corner to slap my wrist.

thats because they have steped up the crack down on speeders in work zones and on 787 and stretches of 87 and i90… as far as your escort not working i would say its defective… i mean ive had one for a while… ive even smacked it off the window out of frustration for one thing or another… and its never not pickedup a cop, unless the radar isnt on.
i got mine at best buy, if you want to stay away from the escorts, go with a valentine 1 i hear they are very good.
The code is just the serial #
…which is stamped on the bottom of each V1…

Mine is Nick’s old one, it still works fine.
Nick has Joe’s old one, it’s still kicking.
Sean had his for years, no problems.
Richie’s baked in the sun once, it’s still going.
