to qualify for the year end run-offs, you will have to run atleast 8 events. Dont matter if they are in wv, or in smithton. Just 8 events. You can run all the events if you like. However, your top 8 finishes is what will count for the year end.
Now that may present a problem in that say 5 of the events, you run fwd class, and maybe 3 events, you run awd class. Points will stay w/ the driver, but being you ran majority of the races in fwd, then all your points will go toward fwd class. This helps out people who may have wrecked or blown up their car and are co-driving until they get back on their feet.
As for how we are going to decide the winner for each event, it will be the total of your 1st three runs. that will decide the placing.
We are also going to try and assign a car number for each driver. This will aid in keeping track of points throughout the year.
I’ll post up more details or changes when i get them. Lastly, keep an eye out for smithton hole schedules, as we are in it. Racing is less than a month away, and i still need to build a car
I think i might have found a car for this, if it pans out im in for sure, is this out near west newton? i couldnt find an address for the hole, just where the meetings are.
yes, this is out by west newton. it is about 5 miles from the bridge in west newton. as my garage is by the bridge, and my house is a mile away from the smithton hole. it is 5 miles from house to garage…
1st race is next saturday. it is going to be good times for sure. really any car will work. if i dont have my hatch ready, i’ll just run my daily driver for it.
jon, will be running my new daily–93 ex, or will co drive in an old awd subaru xt. either way ill be there. hope to have the new hatch done for next event.
as for lending a hand, friday night is dirt track racing. dunno when we will setup. either saturday moring or friday night.
makes it any easier, i drove my car to the last event in west virginia over an hours drive, swapped out tires, raced, swapped tires and drove home.
i expect this race to be alot easier tire wise–shouldnt need real aggresive mud tires–maybe just a normal recap. smithton hole is pretty good dirt wise. however, if we get hit w/ a shit ton of rain, all that could change.
stopped by the track today, it is still setup for their buggy course. ground is hard packed dirt… was hard/dry enough that teh top layer was showing cracks.
i’d expectt hat w/ it being cold this wekeend, ground should be hardpacked still. if we get bad rain, wont take much to bring the loader/backhoe out to back drag the shitty section until we get down to solid dirt.
the main section of the track, what we will be running on, is pretty packed in. so still think you can get away w/ an agressive normal tire or a cheap recap.
