If you walk up on the tracks it sets off the alarm. We approached from the woods, so it didn’t go off. I don’t think it actually calls the cops tho.
it deff doesnt call the cops, but it does tell you to leave in spanish lol
After you get bored of all this action hero shit, you should do needle drugs. I hear they are a real rush.

WTF is that?
And for some reason urban climbing/rappelling is far more interesting to me…
If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to them…
Also, last night I rappelled off of the crane in tonawanda, pics of the crane are here:

What is that? Is it abandoned?
It’s probably in Detroit… trying to lure me onto the dream cruise…

It’s the Lee Plaza Hotel: http://www.forgottendetroit.com/
Good stuff.
the urbex in detroit looks pretty awesome! kinda makes me want to go…
WARNING: do not go reppelling with newman, he will leave you in the trenches taking grenades.
NOT MY FAULT!
Wow I miss this. I took a lot of rappelling courses in ground search and rescue school when I was in high school. Really awesome experience using it to go up and down structures and gorges.
What LZ said… lol.
big surprise
this looks pretty fun. Take me along but make sure I don’t die pleaseee.

I did 2 pretty gnarly raps yesterday. Pictures from the gnarlier of the two are forthcoming, so I’ll just post about the tamer of the two at the moment.
This in an abandoned railroad bridge in Springville, NY:
I was alerted to it’s presence by jt76 (thanks )
In order to get to it, we wound up blazing a trail through the brush. There HAS to be an easier way, but we didn’t know it.
I went with my buddy Dave (he took pics and also rappelled) and EVOLUTION VIII MR (ground/moral support)
The rappel wound up being about 190ft… After tying the anchor knots (5 ft of rope or so) we only had about 5 feet on the ground.
Anyway, pretty standard. Normal rigging, normal rappel. Just really high.
We got soaked trying to get across the creek on the return, but it was fun.
Anyway, here are the pics:
It’s usually pretty hard to grasp the height from pics, so check out this one. That’s me at near the bottom of the rope. Not even on the ground yet.
I’ve kayaked under there before.
