RB20 Swap in Calgary

Hey, have a 1990 240sx.

I’m being held back by the wiring for my RB20 swap. I’m getting really close to putting the engine in but I would like to route out the harness and connect it all before I put it in. The previous owner of this swap was splicing the ka and rb harnesses together and left off 80% the way through, and I’m looking to see if anybody familiar with this in Calgary can come give me a hand.

My cell is 689-0218 and I’ll gladly feed you, beer you, and I’ll try hard to get you some hot chickkas or something heh!

goto autodream , i’m sure they won’t charge you full price if youve got 80% done already

Before you go to autodream, take pictures of what you gave them (all the wiring and stuff)
Also make sure you understand what he’s gonna do when they explain the process to you.

Autodream (Nguyen is the wiring guy) sent me through the biggest mutha uckin loop. Something that should have taken a week turned into two months of me travelling to Calgary (from Edmonton) three times :axe: :axe: :axe: .
I’m never ever in my uckin life getting wiring done at Autodream again, ever.

They got my wiring eventually, but jesus christ it was a bitch.

Just be ready. :partyman:

Well, I’ve decided to omit the whole wiring to autodream hassle and had a friend take care of it. We’re almost done, only thing left to hook up is the iacv and the test plug.

I need to swap out motor mounts, put tranny on, change over shifter, put on a starter, hook up all the misc things and find a downpipe, because I don’t have one.

Plus a buddy of mine is giving me his old RB25 with 0 compression in cylinder 6, so i get that for a rebuild.

yea dont bring it to autodreams…my buddie almost got messed over by them

turns out the guy who did his wirring pretty much made the harness unusable, so he is needing to buy a complete rb20 harness, find another ka harness and start fresh again.

engine is in, and everything, just needs the wirring fixed, and a intercooler installed, but then just the 2 of us have been doing it in our spare time. we have about 10 days total time spent into the swap.

why???^^^^

I can throw a harness thro a shredder and still use it. Aslong as the plugs are still in one piece you can re-pin all of them! Only part of the KA harness you would need is the power up plug and the lower harness anyways.

ok well the harness is complete other then the cut wires, all conectors still there.

adn the only plugs we used fromt he KA were the one in the front right fender for the fuel pump relay or whatever?? and the under dash one.

so if I brought you the harness the full rb 20 and the couple plugs off the ka(I ahve the rest of the KA harness in a box, up to you on a friday, would you wire it up to work on a 240 by sunday so I could bring it back down? of course I am willing to pay a reasonable fee
