I’m looking into putting a rb25 skyline engine into a 300zx. I’m just beginning to look into this and have no clue if this can work. If anyone could help me with some information it would be great.
Z32? Z31? Whats wrong with the VG?
Z31s had a proper crossmember. See Top Secret for Z32 info.
You may have some clearance issues with the hood as well…
I can see maybe hacking into the floorpan abit too depending on how you mount the engine…
the Z31 came from the factory with an RB20det, the car was called a 200ZR (try a google search on 200zr). You’ll need this oil pan, as it has a rear sump. You’d do well to try to find a 200zr crossmember and engine mounts, then it should be a matter of figuring out the wiring.
All in all I’d use another Z31 motor 
I suppose this is all assuming you have a Z31… haha
I thought there were different clearances for the RB20 and RB25?.. Assuming that this is still a Z31.
Well, all RB oil pans are interchangeable, but if you go to a rear sump from a 200ZR you’ll need the rear facing pickup as well.
I don’t believe that Z31’s ever came with an RB25, they were well into the Z32 series by that point.

I hear 200zr RB20 is pretty slow and the VG would kill it. An RB25 from a R33 will waken it up plenty and will be a very cool swap!!! Good luck man.
haha im sure autodream in calgary can hook it up for u…the have been the only in tuner in alberta so far too have done a hybride nissan swap… s14 sr20det in Z32, RB25 in s13, RB26 in s14…Win at autodream seems to have a good imagenation…give them a call 1-403-248-1566
Mark, it’s not imagination if it’s been done a few times previously. What you mean to say is he’s not afraid to take on a project if a customer has money. The good news that all he has to do is follow what somebody else has done, it saves a lot of trial and error and wasting of customer’s finances.
