RB26DETT engine swap

I have a 1995 240sx, i am hoping to do an egnine swap with an rb26dett, but i don’t know the legalities on it. If anyone could provide the legalities on it it would help greatly. Thanks.

You might want to post an intro first.

Anyways, it is illegal. It will not pass the driveclean test.

BTW … do you actually have an RB26 or have any idea how much work is required to get this swap done?

Any engine that isn’t offered in N.America is illegal to swap into our cars. ie. SR20DETs, RB25DETS…

You can insure it under “Hot Rod”, but get prepared to be raped.

I have a s13 with a RB26DETT… and it goes quick like stink… hitting 10’s in the 1/4… and then i woke up… realized that my pockets are empty!!

doh… and ive been doing lots of reading… seems like a RB25DET would be a lot easier and save you that extra $$… but still stupid $$ will be spent.

better off to go and do a SR20DET upgrade the turbo and IC…

the fatter your wallet the faster you can go… after a certain point… its not about power anymore… its about traction…

Cheers.

“I have a s13 with a RB26DETT”

… interested in selling it?

i think he was joking

So what engine can i install in the 1995 240sx if the rb26dett is illegal?

Any engine that was offered in N.America of course. I just said it in the 2nd reply. Just turbo the KA-T and be done with if you care about legalities to an extent. Modifying your car is a legal issue in itself.

you could put in another KA thats about it if your going for the straight arrow approach, but that wouldnt make much sense

You could try a VG30DETT
