RC Car Thread

^ Not too shabby

If we could find a good lot somewhere we could have a monthly thing going on with these cars.

Eric, when and where do you wanna meet up?

Anytime really, but I prefer early in the morning or in the later evenings.

Anyone have a spare .12-.18 engine they want to get rid of? I actually need 2 of them.

Im going to bring this back to life… Ive been out of this hobby for years now, however im debating on getting back in. Only for the reason that there is FINALLY a legit track going up. Indoors also so its all year. RC Kinetics, troy NY. I just moved out here and noticed the sign on a building and looked it up. Hes a old pro r/c ‘racer’ and is building an indoor dirt track (jumps/dips/whoops etc), and a asphalt onroad which will be converted to carpet in winter. Anyhow is anyone else into the racing scene? I never messed with electric but did race nitro and it was a blast but driving 3+hrs sucked. He claims it will be a legit track which could become part of the pro circuit.

Wheres it located in Troy? I frequent S&H every other week or so.

Might as well post up some of my new cars…

Thats my new Himoto stroked out 30cc Rally car and stock Redcat Rampage 30cc buggy. Both are 4WD 2 strokes.

RC Kinetics is the name. It’s on 6th ave I believe in Troy. Pics look like its going to be killer

Hmm thats right around my jobs area.

Yea the Rally is a nasty car and huge lol.

Ive always wanted a Tamiya Drift RC. Anyone know how they to build(ie, easy, hard)?

I built a TT01 and TB02, and have another TB02 in the package. The TT01, comes in different trims, including a drift model. Its an entry level car, a little heavy, but very solid and a fun build. Lots of hopups for them too.

I want a TT01D, just never knew how they were to build, or if itd be worth it to get a RTR

It will take you a few good hours, especially if youre anal like me and have to sand down every bit of flash from the plastic parts. The TT01 is mostly plastic, plastic tub, arms pretty much everything. Not sure what the D package actually gives you, prob a one way diff or something. Only problem I had making mine, some screws can be very hard to get started, the plastic of the chassis is very strong. I have more fun building them than running them I think sometimes. I def suggest a kit, TT01 is a great starter. Easily assembled, only thing I find annoying is the tiny shock pieces.

They deff are mote to build and hop up, especially if you like tinkering with things.

hmm, now im looking into the TT01 chassis. i’ve wanted a 2WD slash forever, but the on-road cars seem alot cheaper.

AWD slash with hard tires would drift just fine.
The big hassle I find with on road is there is never any pavement smooth enough. If I get back into RC a plastic starter kit. Carbon parts break too much! I would like to get a slash or similar and meet in Washington Park or something.

Joe I got what you need as a drift car…

i picked this up off ebay a few months ago. the engine was seized but all it needed was a little heat and pb blaster. i got it to start once but i didnt have much fuel and no place around here sells any so i’ve just had it sitting around.
