Anyone on here good at tuning nitro motors? I have a old HPI Savage with a .26 ofna/picco engine that has not been used in about 5 yrs. Last time i ran it, I had to keep the glow plug ignitor on it too keep it going.
I’ve been in the hobby on and off for a long time, but was never able to master nitro motors. Will toss someone some $$ for engine tuning and nitro motor education
I have so much time and money in that truck it’s almost not worth selling. It would be like $200 if i did and you could get a new one for an extra $80ish dollars. Not saying mine isn’t worth it, just being honest with different options…
So I was thinking. Skurge has the new losi mini 8ight… I have a 1/16 slash/rally, what would happen if I took the 1/16 revo parts and put them on, followed by using the rally suspension with the arms and tie/push rods for the revo, but then use the losi mini 8ight wheels. The mini 8ight wheels are 12mm hex. I feel it would give me a 4wd buggy. What are your thoughts?
mine is apart right now, but i would try the stock suspension before switching anything because with the offset of the wheel you’ll gain width. If you feel you need more stability spend the money on the revo parts. Oh fyi if you use mini8 fronts all the way around you’ll have a wider stance. You could also run wider 12mm hex hubs and would only cost about $5.

The losi mini sct body is a bit wider (looks sweet) and with some trimming you can swing the tires.
alright took some pics… This is with revo arms so you would be more flush with the losi body and the tires are not tightened on so they’re a lil crooked.
Awesome, thank you for showing me this. I’m just getting sick of this thing flipping every time you make a fast turn. I know with a wider stance I’ll be able to take a little harder turns.
BTW, we ran for about 3-4 hours yesterday at my place, maybe longer. Put in about another 2 hours of work with 4 of us. Really broke down the track pretty good. Really muddy right now because of all the melted snow but its kind of a good time to rip the ground up. The one mound has come down substantially but we need more to come down, just keep hitting frozen sections and need to wait for it to thaw out. We started making other jumps and the banked turn is well…pretty much done. All and all, its a pretty nice track to just drive around for now and gives us something to use. More work on the way and hopefully a weed wacker or 2 to chop everything down to dirt.
EDIT: Are these what you are talking about? And how well will my axle hold up with these on and mounting wider. I feel its giong to give a lot more tension on them.
Charging my 4 3.7v lipo’s via the paraboard seems to be working great. Thanks to all of you that helped me make my decision on a charger and batteries.
I flew the msrx outside this weekend. Full throttle and just blasting around everywhere. Funny how things work though…fly over grass the whole time, don’t crash several batteries. Go and fly it over the drive way just messing around and flying low. Slammed it into the ground 2 times extremely hard. Looks like I need a new body and frame since the posts holding the body broke. lol
