RC Talk - What do you have/discussion.

Finally got some photos to throw on here. Lets see what you guys got. Nice to see one person has shared the collection.

Here is the 1/10 Kyosho. Getting an Engine upgrade.

Finished and what she looks like.

The part that broke. (rear drive shaft 84mm long to the knuckle)

This is the new Traxxas 1/16 Slash VXL that I picked up. Body is hammered, but I have a new clear body on the way to paint up.
This was the day I got it, took it out before really going over everything and cleaning it… just wanted to have fun in the snow.

Then the newest addition to the RC group. My Blade MSRX - its flybarless. This fits in the palm of your hand but flies fast a shit and very agile.

I need updated photos of the 120sr.

Blade mcx is about to be sold.

yambag knows my collection but as of right now i have:

part of my collection

Here is my friends 700 electric after a rough impact

and me flying…

Holy poop, nice collection. I pulled my HPI Nitro MT out Saturday for a couple tanks in my backyard. I should try to make a track but my dog would probably destroy it.

I wanted to get into helicopters really bad but I couldnt decide on what I wanted. Ended up selling my dx7 with my planes. Now its cost prohibitive to get back into it…can only have one expensive hobby.

Now thats a sweet collection of heli’s I’d love to see those fly. We should set up an NYspeed RC meet sometime this summer to just see what everyones got going on.

Yeah, my wallet is hurting bad from this. lol

electric rustler = used 4 times
nitro T-MAXX 3.3 - new engine… broken in, then never used again. Batteries died for ezstart… was too mad to buy new ones or put the pullstart on.

Horizon took on a new company. Looks pretty sweet. “VATERRA” is the name of the new branch, looks like rc trucks, buggies, cars, etc. several scale sizes available.

I kind of got out of the hobby but I’ve been thinking about getting back into it.

Have a Micro RS4 that I raced indoors in Niagara Falls for a while.
Have an IFO Mk3 from WildRC that just needs a new receiver: http://wildrc.com/ Used to fly that everywhere, including around the office at my old job.
A bunch of us at my old job bought Mini-Z’s and built a track in the office out of about 300’ of 1/2" PVC. So many lunch hours spent racing 4-5 cars at a time.
Have an Esky Honeybee CP2 heli that was I getting pretty good at flying. Would need some work to get flying again.

Only thing I have that flies currently is a little AirHogs Helix 360 I picked up at Radio Shack on some crazy sale for $30 just to mess around indoors with. It’s a surprisingly good true 4 channel single rotor heli.

I think a new RTF heli is in my future, maybe birthday time.

EDIT:
The track we built in the office years ago:

I think they still have the deals going on. Take a look at the horizon site. I just picked up a MSR X RTF for $99 originally $150. The bnf was the same price, not sure why.

Also for anyone else, there was a lot for sale on there, anyone looking for a small collective pitch or anything like a Mini T.

Heres the link.

Definitely great deals though.

BTW for anyone not familiar with RC helis and looking to just get a deal like the MSRX, have fun paying for parts or finding it hard to fly. Its definitely twitchy and needing some experience before you jump in and get it.

Just emailed that mSR X deal to my wife and said, “Get me this for my bday”.

I have an RC10 original worlds car. Upgraded to brushless and also updated the rear axles to accept modern wheels. I’ve got pics somewhere, but cant find them at the moment.

Also have an HPI RS4 Pro. Upgraded to brushless. Both do about 50mph and run for about 20min on a full charge.

Last, my first RC car. I tracked one down on ebay. It is strictly a shelf queen for keepsake reasons

The local shop (Fields) will honor it as well and will have to. Just a heads up that you can purchase local if you dont care to wait. Hope that helped you out. haha Youtube it if you havent seen it fly before. Its fast as shit!

Yeah, I was actually looking at that one a month ago so I’m pretty familiar with it. No hurry, bday isn’t until mid-February.

I love the helis, but it took me a long time to get into 3d flying. It is so rewarding to build a 60 inch rotor heli and seeing it hovering inverted just inches from the ground, then ripping it over 80 mph straight up.

The msrx is a great entry heli that can still move quickly. I highly recommend it for it’s durability, indoor/outdoor use, and basic skill training. No 3d flying with it, but you have to crawl before you can walk, then run. Learn to hover it with the tail facing you first, then start moving it sideways and learning the new orientations until you get to nose in. Nose in (heli facing you) is very difficult for most to learn. After that, everything else is pretty easy to learn.

I would be in for an NYspeed fun fly when the weather is better.

The wife said it’s been ordered. Happy bday to me. Heh.

I was pretty good with my CP2 when I got side tracked from the hobby. Nose in hover, flying circuits around the obstacles in my front yard etc. Looking forward to getting back into it.

Definitely something I’ve been working on now with the MSR X. I would love to go from this to the MCP X, I know this will definitely help me due to the way it moves around. (also been trying collective pitch on Phoenix simulator)

One thing to look into right away if you can, even before you get it home… Aluminium blade holders. I’ve watch skurge have some bad luck with his and breaking literally 5-8 of them in less than 2 weeks. On the flip side, I’ve had my other friend crash his MORE than skurge, and he hasnt broke one. All in all though, the blade holder is nice to get so you dont have to replace it. It definitely seems like the one thing that breaks the most on these MSR x’s

Support the real vendors like experiencerc.com helidirect.com wowhobbies.com and others. They offer great support, great deals via e-mail, and great pricing. Most of all I try to support Fields Hobbies on Uninon near Walden. Jay is the man, but anyone else can help just as well.

I just bought one of these. Will be here tomorrow…

The brand new bouble brushless mcpx. This should fill my needs until we see more comfortable weather.

Well, looks like I have a Rolling chassis with electronic, minus the motor coming in the mail. 1/10 duratrax evader. Nothing amazing, but still a great purchase for the price I’m paying.

I think we need to make a track in a basement or garage for micro, mini, or 1/18 scale. I have a bunch of ramps and a computer program that uses the camera to count laps, but no room for a decent track.
