has anyone have any stories about rebuilt motors??is it worth it to purchase a car with a rebuilt motor??what should i look for in a rebuilt motor???or what should i expect??
A rebuilt motor is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.
Agreed… but to help the guy out a little…
- find out who it was re-built by
- if a reputable source then good. backyard DIY job, bad… probably
- check receipts… if he doesn’t have any… bad… maybe
- most of all drive it, see how it runs. make sure it doesn’t blow smoke, overheat etc.

most of the time people use the motor has been rebuilt as a sales tactic since you cannot tell unless you open it up, but what you need to look for is all the main nuts and bolts if they look nice and covers in dirt and not shiny like a wrench or socket just touched them then ide be worried
lol… that is true… 8)
