Passed the common council today, heading to the state for approval.
so who do I have to call and harrass about this?
Basically it’s too late now. You can harass the common council since they have to vote again once the state approves it, but once the state approves it they’ll start including the projected revenue in their budget and no one will vote no after that.
how durable are these things?

It’s scary how much they talk about the revenue and how little they talk about safety. Most cities have to lie about how the cameras will make people safer (a huge lie BTW) to get stuff like this passed, but Buffalo voters are so stupid the council can flat out tell people it’s nothing but a revenue grab and still get away with it.
You dont have to pay these tickets. Just say YOU weren’t the one driving the car. Can’t make you pay for something if they can’t prove you were the one driving.
note to self…do not goto Buffalo. let city continue its slow death.

Are you really that dumb? They have these in cities all over the country. Why hasn’t anyone ever thought of just saying, “I’m not paying it, they can’t prove it’s me” before?

- Even if it’s not you driving, the ticket goes to the registered owner of the car, and they are responsible for it. Unlike a criminal ticket that carries points and guarantees you some legal protection via rights to a trial these are just fines, so you’re pretty much SOL. Some cities will drop the fine if you weren’t driving if you rat out the person who was driving.

Do I get a ticket for unsafe stopping?
I would have gotten 2 red light tickets today alone if they were in place. It sucks when the yellow is close and you see a car behind you to slam on the brakes.
Well one more reason I’ll be looking forward to leaving. 
Just don’t run a red light on the way to the airport. :lol:
